Koo is considered Desi Twitter which is used for vernacular microblogging where people write their minds, just like we do on Twitter. However, since the platform couldn’t find a buyer, the co-founder made a statement on his LinkedIn to shut it down. Everyone saw this coming as Koo was struggling for follow-on investment and traction. Since the platform couldn’t raise a new round, the makers were looking for a merger and acquisition deal. Apramyea Radhakrishna, the co-founder stated that they were looking for plenty of M&A options with media companies, large internet companies and conglomerates, but nothing fruitful came out of those deals. Hence, shutting down Koo was the only decision they could make.
