Dos and don'ts for 2-4 year old PMs traversing current markets

This is not a question for the cocky new grad in the overvalued startup, but for the few seasoned PMs that still reply out here. Where do PMs go after they peak? By peaking I mean arriving at a GPM or Staff PM position at the top 10-15 companies (you can do your own ranking here). Nobody has the true statistics but I will use the assumption that 75% (debatable) of those who peak, will get laid off within 2 years from their ‘peak role’. The remaining will be able to progress into DoP and VP in the same top company or another in the top 15. Where do they go then? I am pretty positive, from experience, that they don’t go any up. Do they go down the ladder of new startups for titles and ending up in the worst ones after being laid off 4-5 times? Do they quit all together? Do they open a farm? Do they start their own startup? Comments and thoughts folks!

Hi, I am currently 22, graduated recently from a tier 2 institute and currently working at a US based startup earning 18lpa ( almost all base ) + rsu's, lately my family have been nagging me to do a postgrad, I am confused weather I should do an MBA, MS or not do a postgrad at all considering the years I will miss in workex. What should be my best course of action considering ROI in the next 10-15 years ?? P.S. Currently I am not sure what my interest lies in, but just try to excel at whatever comes my way.

Me: APM with almost 2 years of experience looking to do an MBA to fast track my career. Post-MBA roles: - Product Management - Strategy Roles - Program/Project Management - General Management - Other similar roles Long term goal: To stay in India; fine with working 2-3 years abroad. Query 1: Considering an average profile with 9/8/8 in high school/intermediate/college, tier-1 undergrad and 2 years work-ex at a start-up. Do I have a chance to bag an MBA admit from the following with little scholarship: - LBS - Insead - HEC Paris - Oxford - Cambridge - SDA Bocconi - NUS Singapore - IESE - ISB I'm targeting 1 year programs only for cost purposes, hence the US is out of the picture. Feel free to suggest good 1 yr US programs Query 2: How much GMAT is required for my profile to get into these schools? Query 3: Are 2 year IIM Programs more advisable for me and should I leave abroad colleges altogether.
