Fear rules...even on grapevine.

So basically the title. By abroad here I mean western countries such as UK, USA, Europe, Canada and also includes Australia. If office politics is an Indian phenomenon then why is it so and how we can make Indian corporate setup healthy?

It can be anything related to not doing something you always wanted to but never did, a mistake you realize you shouldn’t have made, or feelings of not being successful enough. Feel free to share your thoughts.

In Bangalore Covid cases has started to spike again, please wear mask everyone. Yesterday one person age 62, passed away due to Covid. A leading well known MSME book keeping and Peak XV surged backed startup, has active COVID cases in the office and they are doing nothing about it. I asked the HR and the person was clueless. The positive person themself is informing everyone to be cautious. Health of employees is a joke here. Basic courtesy of informing employees is severely missing. Also not sure what Office Admin/HR leaders plan for our safety. These people will have no impact of their health and their families. I’m expected to come to the office though my work doesn’t require to come to office. I was okay with this. But after hearing Covid cases I have started to feel panicking. Also I have isolated myself from my fam and elderly parents. In Q4 the organization said it would be transparent. This is how it is planning to do that? Our health doesn't matter? :/ Only making things public, makes them take action. Is this what I have to do every time I need them to meet basic expectations? If any other company facing this problem? How are you dealing this? Please share ideas to isolate or precautionary measures 🙏

I am in shock that the Canadian PM, in the Canadian Parliament no less has alleged that India has eliminated a khalistani on Canadian soil. I still remember the days, when the single greatest attack on the soul of the country took place in Mumbai on 26/11, all we could do was establish backchannel diplomacy with the likes of the US to get Pakistan to 'calm down'. Not a single bullet was fired in return in a nation that perceived our weak national security as par for the course, getting the Congress led UPA that presided over this moment of unparalleled humiliation, a thumping verdict in 2009. That was an India where we would lament the lack of credible retaliation options including Covert Ops. It was often stated that IK Gujral rolled back R&AW operations outside the country as an excuse for our lack. Although, no action was taken to initiate the operations again. NONE. But excuses were ready should failures occur again. That India of my childhood, seems like a distant past. When URI and Balakot happened, we crossed the LoC and launched Spl Ops to impose rising costs upon Pakistani aggression. Khalistani or old thoroughbred battle hardened Islamic Jihad commanders in Pakistan or PoK are being neutralized, further raising costs to threatening Indian interests. This is not the India I grew up in. 2004-14, when we ought to have taken off, came a pauper after the initial global liquidity fuelled growth from 04-07. Congress went on a far left loony socialistic binge, with massive amounts of debt given to Crony Industrialist friends leading to an NPA crisis which led to Private investment paralysis, plummeting growth further, and inflation hitting the skies. But now, we are poised for a decade or two of rapid, high quality, solid economic growth. All of these factors combine to bolster our Gross National Power like never before. We were supposed to be poor, timid and helpless. We pursued sympathy over strength. But I guess, this is no longer the India we knew of.

I mean seriously if our schools also start teaching kids and teenagers about gender studies, feminism, wokism, cancel culture and all that stupidity, won’t it destroy our culture. We were saved because we didn’t had internet and smartphones back then by while growing up. But today’s kids and upcoming generations are not lucky. Already I see many school and college girls and guys speaking with an American accent, hating our own culture, watching only American movies/shows, and dreaming to become Americanised completely. . I somehow feel this shit will come and grab the attention of our kids generations 5/10 years down the line. Can anything be done to prevent it?

I am fed up here as I don't see accountability anywhere. There was a Telugu Movie starring Mahesh Babu where he being CM says, in foreign, people are responsible and accountable and they made their lives beautiful. How amazing, right? I truly resonate with that thought We lack accountability in everything we do. - if something goes right, it's us, if wrong, it's them! - We don't hold our govt politicians on their promises, on delivering things of value - Companies go on screwing us, we don't give a damn. Refunds are processed without timelines, cases in country are backlogged for years and years - We cannot even keep our cities clean, our air pure and our water drinkable and we are least bothered by it - We cannot maintain our own infrastructure like Buses, railways, trains. We fucking are stealing mugs from railway toilets due to which it's chained (wtf!) We don't want responsibility and no one should question us. How are we really supposed to grow? Stringent laws in place helps with accountability of companies who at all times think how can I squeeze more money from people and screw them Accountability keeps everyone in check. Change my view!

Really surprised to see the level of name-calling, personal attacks and poor use of language happening on a public forum for professionals. I don't know how we came to this point as a country where you can't even have a civil discussion about topics without someone starting to abuse people for no good reason. It's the same thing playing out on other social media platforms as well. Most of this vitriol seems to be coming from a particular section of people, and it's obvious to everyone. What I don't get is why they indulge in such behaviour when they could be speaking to their potential partners, employers, colleagues and maybe even future co-founders. Do they not realise this, or do they not care? Why has mature conversation and civil discourse died such a horrible death in India? Who is responsible? Can this be fixed?

TCS organises an internal exam called "Wings 1" by which the new joiners can double up their salary. (They get extra incentives, it's added as a separate item in Salary Slip). • No Fairness • No transparency , just hope so that you get stuck in the loop. So they organise this 3 times in a year so that they can cover the whole year. (Selling Hope of Getting Cleared Every Cycle). > A few months back they changed rules as most of the people were on the verge of clearing it. > There is no particular syllabus for most of the exams. > If you are on the verge of clearing Required Tracks, you will potentially end up getting failed in one of them for sure.(you'll never know why !) > There's no marking scheme. > The exam centres are 50-60KMs away. > You can't even see how many marks you scored. > The Result comes after a month, that too is sometimes delayed.(This is the same TCS which organises JEE etc exams). > If more people are clearing, they reshuffle marks (Happened in Earlier Cycle). > Even after so many obstacles if you clear it: if your manager gives you C band it goes away... they call themselves employee friendly 😂. Most of the new joiners get stuck in this cycle & end up losing their precious time. Someone should raise this issue. It should be in NEWS. *********If someone is writing article on this then i can share SSs of Dashboard in ample amount which proves my point........
