Feeling weird

Hi, I came across few friends and also one person who used to report directly to me that they got 24 LPA offer. They have less yrs of experience then me and also knowledge. I am getting same 24 LPA (with 1% equity). Do you guys think this should be red flag me to switch to some better paying jobs? I have 9+ yrs of experience and working as engineering manager(Node, Python, PHP) while they are senior devs(Android, PHP,Frontend) with approx 5-6 yrs of experience.

Hi fellow grapeviners, I came across few posts mentioning i am earning 60+ or 70+ lpa having 2.5 to 3 years of experience but age is only 23 or 24. I know this is too good to be real. Some iitians can do but are these people real? Please answer because these posts make me depressed i don't know why?

I joined a startup in 2021 with a 6 LPA package. After about a year I learnt that one of my colleague, who had joined 3 month before me, and who's from the same batch (2021) as mine is being paid 12 LPA for the same role, even though I'm much better than him in terms of programming knowledge and development skills. Learning that killed all the motivation I had to work and now I feel cheated and deceived. How should I deal with this situation ?

Total Experience: 7 years Domain: Sales Education: Tier 2 Engineering College Current TC: Rs. 60L + ESOPs (mentioning the compensation as it's relevant) Throughout my life, I have been discriminated against due to not having a pedigree. I have had to work my ass off to reach where I am today. Currently I'm at a senior position in a startup incubated by an MNC. I still face the following concerns: 1. Extreme difficulty while applying for jobs; Example: my exceptional performance in my previous organisation was not known outside and since I didn't have any "pedigree", I was considered overpaid in the job market. 2. I did join at a decent hike after an year of search and even in the new company, I don't command a lot of respect due to the lack of fancy tags like IIT/IIM/ISB/Booth/LSB/Insead,etc. What should I do? Does an MBA make any financial sense to me at this Experience and Compensation? If yes, where should I try for an MBA?

I myself am a Software dev with more than ten years of exp. I mentored a bunch of folks and was active in lot pf communities. I have been noticing this trend for more than couple of years about how freshers and developers with experience of less than two three years are aggressively looking to switch companies to target 30L or 50L or whatever they are currently looking for. But I feel this is really bad for future in terms of career growth. I am not against looking for the best offer, but I feel people recently don’t have any priority for career growth. I am trying to understand their perspective. I am not jealous of any of these. Heck I prefer that they get more, so that they have to increase my pay to keep up with current trends. It’s just when people ask me for career guidance I don’t want to sound like a jerk to prioritise good work over good pay. Can you guys share your inputs/perspectives?

Trying to see companies that people here have had the dream to join, but didn’t ultimately work out. Have you now grown over it?

Switched to a new company some months back, they asked me my expected pay, i told them some amount which i thought was significant then recently got to know everyone is getting paid more than that ( even people with 1 YOE ) just because they asked for it while joining. Not sure how i should feel about it now. I can't even ask them directly and appraisal cycle is 8 months to go.

I had an interview with Capgemini for BA profile around 23rd February. It went amazing. Got selected for second round. They asked for details like UAN card and previous salary slips and offer letters to schedule a client interview. It sounded weird but I provided the details because I couldn't think of any way they can misuse the information. It's been 3 weeks and I haven't heard from them. Is this usual practice? Personally haven't come across such a situation before.

Currently with 3+ yrs of experience and earning around 36 LPA ( 28 fixed and 8 esops ). Getting a feeling like I am not earning enough and also I am getting a FOMO looking at my friends who are doing MS and settled in US. I want to experience it, but not sure if it’s worth it or should I look for switch to get out that fomo? It’s now or never for doing MS as I am will be getting almost 4-5 yrs experience in next few years. Also, Feeling like I am getting old for MS Please give suggestions.
