First freelance or contract gig?

Coders on grapevine, need your advice. I want to start part time job or freelancing to earn extra money. I have 7 yoe in JavaScript (reactjs, react native). Where should i start my search? What should I expect in terms of client expectations? If any of you are doing freelancing, I would love to hear about your journey.

Hey folks, I want to dip my hand in freelancing. My job is quite laid back and i have a lot of free time. I have been grinding leetcode in my free time but I'm bored of it. So, I decided why not use this to expand my real working knowledge and earn some side income too. Any experienced freelance person, please guide on how to start and where to. Hello folks, This is a call for every software engineer and broader community. I’m a 30 year old customer support employee who worked at Airtel, MPL, Wazirx and I have 5 years of total experience all things customer support. About a year ago, laid off at Wazirx due to crypto taxes and regulations and it’s been an uphill battle to find a steady job in the market. Did few freelance jobs but nothing is working out. I’m at a point where I’m unable to even get by on monthly basis. I’m a Engg dropout as well, so no degree, no real top notch experience to land other roles. I finally decided to have a crack at software jobs and pivot to whole new field. I have few queries, if anyone can find some time and answer them, it would mean the world to me 1. Do I need a degree to land software roles ? 2. To pivot to coding roles ( no prior experience), where should i start ? 3. There’s an ocean of misinformation out there, I’m really confused on where to start and which courses to take up? ( Planning to take up Phyton ) 4. Can coding help to land freelance jobs ( I know it’s difficult and takes time to reach good enough of a level but I’m willing to work hard and put the hours in ). 5. Here's a little bit about my career: - I dropped out of college to build a design studio with 20+ people for 4 years before leaving that to start another studio. - I’ve worked across most major startups in Bangalore (not including brand names here for anonymity) - I’ve worked across brand identity design, UX/UI, social media marketing, ad films, animation/motion graphics, and 3D Happy to answer questions about design, freelancing, starting an agency/studio, the design industry, etc.

I am working remotely at a SaaS company for 4+ years now. I started working since my final year of engineering. I joined here as a software engineering intern when the product was really new and booming. I have gotten bored of my work now, especially since I have been working from home all the time. I have very little social life. And I am getting fixed salary of about $1400 each month. I am thinking of switching to any Indian startup because I am not happy with my job being so monotonous and less pay at this level of experience. What should be the approach to crack the interviews? I have done DSA practice during my college days, but didn't crack any interviews with it. I am a full stack web developer but it doesn't excite me anymore and I want to stick to backend roles. And is it possible to crack an interview with for 30-40 LPA at this stage? Or do I have to climb up a salary ladder for a couple of years?

I am a graduate from a tier-1 engineering college and will be starting out with a job in a few months at a financial services MnC in an analyst role. I am looking to build some income streams apart from my salary over the next few years and wanted to gain some freelancing skills to build an online business but am confused about where and how to start. I've seen people working on software projects and stuff like digital marketing but can't really picture myself in similar roles. I'm not a techie, my interest lies mainly in finance and business but I'm fine with exploring and venturing into something new as well. Would be great if someone who has done it in the past can please guide as to what can be some promising skills to gain and how to go about it.
