Folks at GoogleIndia, what can you share?

Is it a good time for early in career(1.5 YoE) to join Google India. I am curious about their current culture like WFH policies, management outlook, direction of company, growth opportunity etc in Bangalore offices only.

What can you tell as an insider to someone on the outside looking at Google for possible next switch.

Also, are there opportunities to shift from Bangalore to other location outside India?

Most of the teams are hybrid(2-3 work from office) , you can officially take around 30 days WFH throughout the year, I have seen people take more, depends on manager.

From growth POV am assuming you are joining as an L3, it will take at-least 1.5-2years for a promotion, your experience outside won’t count, you will have to show work you did within the team during Promo.

Direction and management depends on team to team. I have seen some orgs doing really well in terms of work they take up, others not so much.

As for switching outside India, currently its next to impossible, might happen for European countries, US not so much, especially since layoffs and everything, they are trying to shift jobs to India, so unless the situation improves Nil chances of that but I guess that would be the case for most of FAANG.
