Folks in 30s, what are the health issues you're facing due to lifestyle choices or work pressure?

I'm struggling with back pain, headache (of I don't get proper sleep) and lack of energy.

I used to smoke 8-10 cigarettes daily in my 20s and daily long hours desk job with all three meals outside.

Now I can't sit for more than 2 hrs at stretch and if I don't get 8 hrs of sleep, I just can't function the next day - like a Zombie with red eyes. I feel on my good days also I have 50% energy compared to 5-6 years back.

I have joined a gym a few months back - doing 3-4 sessions weekly and on complete home food diet. Things are a bit better now.

Anyone facing the same?

Had similar condition one year back, borderline pre-diabetic (HbA1C), did following things:

  • Reduced Alcohol consumption to once or twice in a month (2 times only in case of unavoidable circumstances)
  • Started eating good food, multigrain rotis, lesser rice (briyani only once in a week), more protein less carb
  • One physical exercise 5 days a week (badminton, run, cardio, yoga etc)
  • No food after 9pm

Worked out pretty well for me till now.

Had a similar situation.
Have improved on some fronts. Still WIP. Some things that worked for me:

  1. Switched to Low Carb/High Protein diet. Solved acidity and lack of energy issues. Our carb heavy Indian diet is a toxic combo with a desk job.
  2. For posture, i time and take breaks every half an hour. Walk for half an hour every day. No more back pain. Posture and regular movement is the key.
