From marketer to software developer

Hi guys, wanted to get your thoughts. I have been a marketer for 10 years and have doing decently well. My salary is not exorbitant but good enough as per market standards. However, I never enjoyed marketing much. I always felt inclined to coding and respected that work more than what I did. Lately I have been getting really frustrated with what I am doing and contemplating changing my trade from marketing to software development. In the last one year I built a lot of apps on google app script and collab and it was a joy working on them. Even after work I would keep thinking about the code and that was never true for marketing. Now I am thinking should I move full time into it. I want to start out as an intern and work my way up. Will it be a good idea. Am I overestimating myself?
