Does any one know story of GV ??? How did they penetrate into the crowded market that too with just text???

2008 Orkut 2011 Facebook 2012 Twitter 2013 Instagram 2015 Quora 2016 Reditt 2019 Discord 2020 Tiktok 2022 Snapchat . . . 2024 Grapevine. Except GV, none of them is shipped from India. Social media has evolved like anything. Now my 90% time goes to GV and distant 2nd is Twitter and LinkedIn etc. GV can be really big if things go right 👍 LinkedIn has 100M+ users in India, so TG is huge. Monetization should be done in such a way that it doesn't snatches the charm of product unlike other SMs ex quora. Any suggestions to make GV a better product gvians?

Hi @Grapevine team and Community marketing enthusiast who have worked on 0-1/1-10, We are building a community app related to dating and figuring out unpaid marketing channels what will work or not since we don’t have much money to do paid marketing. How did you started grapevine and manage community effects, did you go to paid channels? Do you believe in grow fast or die or growing slow in community apps is also fine since credibility comes with size of community. We have spent almost 💵 Rs 2 crore+ on Facebook Ads for generating app downloads ⬇️ and successfully generated 🙃 100k+ download for our app but TBH we have 0 DAU as of now.

Over the years, being a generalist, I've realized that it's very tough to know when we're bringing the right impact or not. In the case of Devs/Designers/Other specialists: The output is quicker and tells the story - an amazing UI/UX, or building well working products. For generalists, the feedback loop is much longer, it's very unclear what it will amount to (especially at startups), it's the reason why being a generalist is looked down upon, by some people. My realization has been this: over a 1-2 year period, when you look back at your work, it's the picking that determines how you feel about what you did. And also how others feel about how you did. PICKING: Knowing what to work on. What to A/B test. What 0 to 1s to pursue. Should you prioritize product idea A or product idea B. Should you experiment with growth channel A or growth channel B. EXECUTION: Taking what you pick from 0 to 1. Knowing when to take it from 1-10. Working to make it happen. Eventually, most days are execution days. Whether you do good work depends on how well researched & well thought out the 'picking' was. So pick well, don't under-invest in that stage. Take out time every now and then to course correct. Know what to pick.

Just wondering what is the monetisation plan of Grapevine? Will it charge user like X? Or it will go ad way like Meta? Or sell data on salary etc ? Any thoughts?
