Is it a good time for early in career(1.5 YoE) to join Google India. I am curious about their current culture like WFH policies, management outlook, direction of company, growth opportunity etc in Bangalore offices only. What can you tell as an insider to someone on the outside looking at Google for possible next switch. Also, are there opportunities to shift from Bangalore to other location outside India?

Hey all, Few days back I interviewed for Google and got a TM the HM did brief about the role but it was related to cloud VM instances identifying the bottle necks and analysing performance. I didn't get to see any dev work here, but I really like building something instead of monitoring or analysing it. When I asked Recruiter regarding other TM rounds she said if you not take this you may have to end up waiting for months like many folks do right now. What do you suggest should I take this role because it's GOOGLE or take risk and wait.

Hi all, I have around 2 years of experience, and I am getting a chance to interview with Google. I am currently working on frontend, but I want to move to backend and I have been preparing for that, but with phone screen round coming up, if I tell them I have worked on Frontend, then I will definitely be considered for frontend role and if I lie there, then I might fuck up interview if they ask backend questions, any suggestions will be appreciated. Contemplating between an offer at Google vs a Series A startup, in India, with similar pay. I'm curious to know if Google as a name on the resume (or for future prospects) is still as big as it was maybe 5-8 years ago? Or is India just a low cost employee centre for them and it'll always be down-the-stream work, at the whims of middle/senior managers? A family member of mine is attending an interview with Google Bangalore for the role of Product Support Manager. Not sure what level the role is but it is a mid-senior role and she has 10 years of experience. The thing is, the recruiter never asked her current salary and expectations during the screening. He just went ahead and scheduled the first round. So, my cousin is wondering if after she goes through all rounds, then they might hear her TC and reject her in the end (as her current TC is very high). My question, will Google India provide a base higher than what she is already getting? And how much can she ask for? Her current TC: 40 LPA (base) Startup ESOPs: worth 45 lakhs She works as a Manager here. If she clears all rounds, will google provide her a salary higher than this current base? Or is she just wasting her time since the recruiter won't go higher than 40lpa? After clearing all rounds, she was hoping to ask for Base: 50 LPA RSUs: $50,000 Appreciate any feedback or suggestions.
