Didn't really understand the reason for adding the streak here.

There's really no friction to get a streak. You just scroll to the bottom and you are done for the day.
Didn't feel any motivation or connect when compared to what Duolingo or any other gamification app does. I'm reading the news, then what. Maybe a quiz can be added and a leaderboard can be introduced. Now I don't know what to do with this streak as there isn't any abstract or visible motivation.

It's a beginning for many of us who have left reading news since school. Reading min 15 news articles is a big thing for some.

Good habits should have tracker

All added features can come in later

I kinda agree. Maybe they want to increase their feature adoption so they came up with a very basic gamification solution.

I don’t see reason for adding streaks other than that.

Not much interested in news streak count as sometimes not following news daily is a great source of mental peace and more focused work and person life.

@NewsAnchor please weed weekly-monthly digest newsletter or something called in case you missed it. Not every news should be breaking news and require to know on the same day and if I come back after few days then I don’t want to scroll to all the news cards but only the most important ones based on my interests. @Micheal_Scott
