Ever since 2020, it feels like years have passed within weeks. I can't possibly explain this in words, but for some reason, time has been passing a bit too fast. Before I realized it, my graduation was completed, someone who would seem a grown-up to the person I was before the lockdown. Festivals don't seem to make me happy now, and neither does having friends and going out with anyone...everything seems normal and everything goes by before I can process anything on my mind. Is it just me? I can't feel any emotions like I used to, is it something that all grown-ups go through/suffer with?

Is Time Really Passing Too Fast Now?

Because we’re doing too many things. Weekdays are slammed with work, weekends are slammed with relatives, weddings, friends, chores, functions, outings!  
  
 Even till late in the night the screens are lit up and many us forget time. But the time you look up from the screen is an hour past in 15 mins.  
  
 We should sit. Do nothing. And just notice how slow the world is. Even for an hour or couple of hours.  
  
 Morpheus : It is the world that has been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth.

Age is a very controversial topic (which I find surprising, though I kinda understand why).

Many people crib about growing up, and often remain too deep in the nostalgia of their youth - forever wishing to go back.

Personally, I like growing older. I can see myself having improved significantly from how naïve I used to be.

I’m not looking forward to creaky bones, degrading brain capacity and the eventual downfall of human civilisation (just speculating).
But I feel that aging - and eventually dying - is what gives any sense of progression and conclusion to life.

Would appreciate perspectives from others on Grapevine. What do you guys think? :)

Does this bother you that you will not meet your parents enough?

Let's say your parents are around 55 years old and will live till 80. If we consider you will go to your months 4 times in a year and let's say each time you are going for 10 days, which means 40 days in a year and 1000 days in total. Less than 3 years and. 

I am not even considering that when you visit them, you will still have work as mostly you will take wfh and not leave.

Does this fact bother you that you will not be able to spend much time with them?

I used to be a creative guy in my mid 20s. I learned to play a guitar, could sketch pretty well and also used to work out pretty regularly.
Lift has changed drastically in the last 2 years and I now find myself no time to spend on my hobbies. I tuned 30 recently and have been under slight shock that my responsibilities are bound to increase due to family and work.
I had no responsibility till now and had lived a care free life.
Now that I am engaged, I've realized that I need to dedicate my time for my family, my well being, my upskilling and also some to to evaluate my finances. This has also made me realize that I won't have enough time for my hobbies/interests. I badly want to learn to play an electric guitar and the fact that I won't have much time terrifies me as I need to make a choice of doing something that I love (learn to play a guitar) or doing something that helps me to live a life and pay off my bills which basically is my full time job.
I might have a child in another 4-5 years and the responsibility of having a child terrifies me even more. 
I don't want to make a choice between being there for my child and being there for my work.
I'm not sure if I'm over thinking or just being realistic but not having enough time for yourself due to work and family has been bothering me lately. 
I'm 30 and the fact that responsibilities are bound to increase in my life terrifies me.
Is this a common and a normal feeling or is this unnatural?

Folks who are working in your 30s, do you still find time to work on your hobbies? If yes, how are you able to manage your family life, work life, upskilling, working out and making time for your hobbies?

The situation and scenes are getting worse and worse, and i lose myself on a daily basis. Now, it has become a routine to find myself by dropping the last inch of patience, self-love, and understanding.

What are you starting to love more as you get older?

Although most of us moved out as teens to pursue our degrees, during college, one is surrounded by friends all around, and it's hard for loneliness to hit except for those 1 AM Nights.
But as an early career working professional, for the 1st time in life, most start feeling lonely,
pick themselves up cook their meals, and maybe apply to new jobs because you hate your current job. 

The first thought over the weekends is to do the laundry and clean up the mess you made over there is no one for you to come back to, no matter how bad your day was, you still have to work on weekdays.

What I hate the most about this stage is the relationships and friendships, being away from parents,
surrounded by people in the office but can't open up to, maybe you are lucky and make friends in the office but still, not even getting the time to call them, and having multiple colleagues to hangout with but 
the day you switch jobs you will be leaving them behind, just like your high school friends were left behind 
when you moved to college, just like your college friends were left behind when you moved cities for a job.

You are aware and mature enough to know your mistakes and fuck-ups in the past but you are also chained in the shackles of habits you have made over the last 20 years. There is an opportunity cost to everything, do you sleep early on the weekend or party Friday night and end up being hungover on Saturday too, do you give your best to the job or start your master's prep?

It's like a world of illusions that lets you believe that something better is 10 steps away and does not let you sit still in the present.
