Have u ever sold ur mutual fund? How long did u hold before selling?
Just curious about this as I just see people keeping it all invested and adding on to their “net-worth” but haven’t known or well they don’t say when they sell part of their mutual fund. I wonder if there’s some situation or specific trend to when it should be sold?
a) Yes.
b) Some we’re sold immediately as I needed the cash for an emergency, some were held till lock-in period i.e. ELSS for 3 yrs, and then sold as I usually cycle these, some were also sold after the fund didn’t perform as expected after 5 yrs. In short, it’s situational and there are usually many factors at play here.
