Have you done this for getting your first job??

How can one specifically target startups and succeed? While many pursue top MNCs or MAANG, getting entry can be challenging. I am keen on working with small startups. Has anyone experienced working in startups in Bengaluru or other locations where both good pay and learning opportunities are available? In terms of job search, is LinkedIn/Naukri or referrals more effective? When preparing for interviews, should one focus more on DSA rounds or development skills? What are the pors & cons or tips? Plz share your insights. Thanks

I am a student at IITR now, looking for a PM internship. I love checking new products as a user and looking for the things that could make it more interesting. I am really stuck because I cannot find the opportunities. I check every LinkedIn, Glassdoor, well found openings but their turnout even after mailing and messaging HR is not good. I really want to put my skills out there in the corporate world and learn new things from professionals. I have not done any internship before and every company shortlisting seeks for previous internships. What would you suggest for my scenario on getting my very first PM internship? I have this time constraint thing for an onsite internship, I just have 2 months for an onsite intern before my college opens up again. Then after, I can definitely work remotely given the opportunity. I always put in all my hard work when a task is assigned to me. Please suggest how I should take things forward? And also, if you may know of any openings for a product management internship.. please let me know.

Have a few cousins who are passing out in a month time, they've got the analytical skills - SQL, Excel, Python, Tableau. Problem is they're applying for roles on LinkedIn, Naukri but no responses so far from last 2 months, what are some other strategies that can help them get jobs?

I am a computer engineering student from a tier 3 college in Pune. Now that I am in the last couple of months of my 6th semester multiple companies have come to our campus but I haven't gotten an internship. How do i search for internships off campus? Are there any tips from some experienced people like what do companies look at when giving out internships. Since last month I started applying off campus using linkedin and other websites but I am not getting any callbacks for interviews or even online tests. Previously I haven't done any internships but have done projects which I have out on my resume. Please forgive me if the format of this post is wrong, vague or broad. I am writing a grapevine post for the first time.

I am a '21 graduate from a Tier 1 college (old IIT) and have had short stints as product manager at a couple of startups. About a year back, I decided to startup but after a few months, realized that startup idea wasn't worth pursuing. Researched around a few startup ideas and finally landed upon a good one in D2C space. But the problem is financing. I don't have much saving and friends / family network wouldn't be able to finance this. I really want to pursue this idea but finance is becoming a hindrance. So started looking for job opportunities about 3 months back. I have been exploring work opportunities in product / founder office / EIR roles or other generalist role. Job hunt process has been frustrating to say the least. Getting very few calls. In most cases, people are ghosting after couple of rounds of interview or assignment. In some cases, after getting through 2-3 rounds, I got to know that opening has been closed temporarily. Most HRs don't even have the decency to give feedback. I don't intend to work in job for long anyway. As soon as I have the job, I plan to start working on my business idea and quit as soon as I have enough financial leeway. How should I go about job hunt process? I have been trying to connect with folks on LinkedIn in whose company job openings are there. Apart from this, I have been connecting with founders from recently funded startups. Naukri / Instahyre and IIM Jobs are other portals I have been looking on. Anything I should do differently here? Looking forward to hearing your suggestions / experience.

Whoever is looking for a change in Product, do you guys have preferred platforms apart from the careersites and Linkedin that generally give you good traction from recruiters? Doing this for a survey to understand what channel would be more effective.

My college doesn't have campus placements. I've applied at so many places, naukri.com, indeed, upwork, internshala, LinkedIn but I haven't heard back from anyone. My resume is fine. I have a little bit of prior experience. But I keep getting ghosted everywhere. Any help?

I have worked in startups for 6 years now(Product Manager role); and recently applied for 1-year MBA programs in UK. Got in Queen’s University, University of Liverpool, Birmingham and a few others. I resigned a few months ago because company was putting people on PIP instead of layoff and severance payments. I am not working at the moment. Eventually I did not go for MBA - thought it’s foolish to spend 30lakhs for a Masters Stamp on my portfolio. People generally to for MBA to move into another domain; and mostly product. I am thinking of a few conventional businesses now or a job overseas. I do not have a Tier 1/2 college degree. What would you have done?

Does applying for jobs in different company websites, LinkedIn or naukri really work? Has anyone received call that way? Have been trying to switch since two months and applied for a lot of them, got only one call that too from naukri after recruiter visited my profile on their own.
