There was an SEZ sunset that the government did few years, where tax benefits ceased existing for SEZ ... Ofcourse, there are many IFS and BUTS ... But many clients I was working with were preparing for post sunset clause period... Please research what benefits (if at all) are still there.

I couldn't find many startups from Pune. Though we call Pune emerging tech city and second silicon valley.

I know there are plenty of MNCs and product based companies in Pune but found no startup based in Pune.

What are good startups in Pune?

Heard from most people that there’s a lot of crunch. Wondering if anyone at their companies feels like their startup is growing despite the slowdown. 

Razorpay, CRED, and are seeing tighter regulations and downrounds. The food delivery companies have all gone through their down rounds and readjustment of expectations. Even SaaS most founders have a poor revenue/employee ratio and the india story is still yet to play out for the newer bets. 

Just yesterday Oslash announced it’s shutting down its app.

Any green shoots ☘️? And if there are maybe it’s a good thread for folks to try and hire.

Which Indian startup do you believe has the potential go big if they play it right?

I was wondering if Uttar Pradesh can be the next Bangalore. It has everything. It has a large population which is decently literate. It has IIT Kanpur, IIT BHU, NIT ALLAHABAD and other deemed universities. It has good connectivity to Delhi with Expressways and Highways. Crime is significantly down. It has the largest Airport coming in India Jewar International Airport. It has cities like Noida which already is an IT hub. 

I believe cities like Lucknow and Kanpur can be the next hub of investment and employment opportunities in India. They have their own metro projects for city commute and for long distance travel we have RRTS service that is a work in progress. To top it all Alcohol is not banned here unlike Gujarat.

I think with the right planning Uttar Pradesh can have several Bangalore-like tech hubs. What are your thoughts on this?

High Paying Jobs in Ahmedabad/Gandhinagar

I am planning to settle down in one particular city in the next  3 to 5 years. I am currently evaluating Bangalore, Hyderabad and Pune. 
From long term perspective ( for next 20 to 30 years) Which city will offer better job prospects ( IT/Software Development/Product Management/Strategy related jobs) along with a decent life style supported by satisfactory amenities like  Gated housing options which are not super expensive, Good schooling options for kids, Decent commuting facilities like Metro, wide roads etc. 
Interested to hear feedback from folks who went through or going through this dilemma.

What, in your view, is the difference between tech startups and tech-enabled startups?

For example, in my humble opinion, Swiggy, Zomato, CRED, and PayTM are tech-enabled startups. I can name only a few Indian tech startups, such as InMobi and Ather. (There may be more, It’s just i don’t know). This also suggests that India's startup scene is dominated by tech-enabled startups. 

In contrast, Amazon may have started as a tech-enabled e-commerce company, but it is now a fully-fledged tech company. They ship software, technologies, etc. Why isn't it the case with India's tech-enabled startups?

Additionally, I would like to know how difficult it is to secure venture capital (VC) funding for tech startups.
