It's been almost a month at my new job and among other things, the transition from email to slack for internal conversations has been very very interesting. 

previously everything had to be on email for it to be considered legit, slack was also there but not an official channel. 
now it is slack and only slack, personally prefer this.

I've been thinking about how we're always connected to work these days. The line between work and personal time seems to be getting blurrier, with our phones constantly buzzing with work notifications. 

It's becoming a real challenge for many to truly disconnect and maintain a healthy work-life balance. 

I've personally struggled with this - just last week, I found myself answering work emails at on a Saturday, and it made me realize how much it's affecting my downtime.

In an age of constant connectivity, how do you manage work-related communication outside office hours? What boundaries have you or your company set to prevent burnout?

I've been using Teams extensively but want to know more about folks who've used slack or both....what's your opinion.

Work from home (WFH) has been really beneficial for me in terms of the flexibility it offers. I can manage my chores better, spend more time with my loved ones, and even travel while working remotely. 

But lately I have been getting bothered with the expectation to always be available. Gone are the days when one could “log out” in the evening and fully BE PRESENT where they were. These days, I get pings on Slack or WhatsApp messages for the smallest of things on late evenings and even weekends. 

It’s like work has slowly creeped into quality personal time. I love being present in the moment and this culture does not afford that option.

Do you think keeping or deleting slack off your personal phones gets you to better mental health and wlb?

It’s clear to me that this isn’t good for me. My interaction with the outside world and being in the present is inversely proportional to how much I use IG/smartphone.

IG is obv the strongest drug, but in general want to be more conscious about what I do on my phone, when Inuse it.

Looking for genuine advice. Please help 🙏🏻

People who reduced IG/Smartphone usage, how did you do it?

fed up of Gmail, feels very cluttered, tags are very random, for finding archived messages you need to go to all inboxes. do not like using gmail at all...ugh..but have to use daily🤕

As I'm entering a new stage of life, I'm starting to reevaluate my career priorities. In my 20s, I was all about climbing the ladder and chasing prestige. Now, I'm more focused on finding work that aligns with my values and allows for a balanced lifestyle. 

Have any of you gone through a similar shift? How did it change your career trajectory? And how do you define success for yourself now versus when you first started out?

Redefining success: How have your career priorities shifted as you've grown older?

Man, this hits home. I used to be all about the fancy title and corner office. Pulled 80-hour weeks, missed family events, the whole rat race thing.

Then my dad got sick last year. Spent a lot of time in hospitals, thinking about what really matters. Realized I couldn't remember the last time I took a real vacation or had dinner with my kids without checking emails.

Ended up taking a step back at work. Less pay, but more flexibility. You know what? I don't miss the stress. Sure, the ego took a hit at first, but I'm actually enjoying work now. Plus, I'm finally learning my kids' friends' names!

Success for me now? It's about having time for the people I love and work that doesn't make me dread Mondays. Still figuring it out, but dekhte hain baaki :)
