How do you retain useful content?
Hii, recently I have been procrastinating a lot while trying to educate myself about personal finance and other personal growth related content.
After a bit of introspection I came to a few conclusions on why I am procrastinating.
The number one reason that came to my mind is that i tend to forget whatever "non-entertainment" stuff I watch on YouTube so what's the point of watching it so I avoid it.
I have tried pen paper notes but i rarely open them again.
I want to know how you remember all those useful articles, videos , podcasts, Twitter posts, grapevine answers that you come across online ?
I have seen people listening to podcasts while travelling to work, if you are one of them then how do you retain the information?
Best learning is through practice
I put that knowledge to use ASAP because I know I'll forget or procrastinate later. Or i share it with my team/friends/family so they can utilise it.
Financial knowledge is I think more of a long term game and at least takes 2-3 months to apply what we read or listen
There are scientific methods on how to store something in long term memory. Just like how u get asked to retype ur password or pin every once in a while… That once in a while has been defined, search for it and do that
Take notes and read them every now and them
