How many of you have OCD of completing a given task/project fast.
Like suppose you have deadline of 1 week if you spend 7-8 hours daily. But sometimes (happening all times with me) I over stretch myself to complete it in 2-3 days itself. I don't get better sleep or focus on other things like watch movies or play games until I complete it.

Chill out a bit, dude. If you finish 7 days of work in 2-3 days, you'll get rewarded with more work for the remaining 3-4 days. 😄 And ultimately you'll burn out and will have to take a break for 1-2 years from job to recover, before you can start working again.
So I have the opposite OCD. If the deadline is in one week, I'll procrastinate and start the work on day 3-4, and then when it's not done by day 7, I'll explain the complexity of the work in detail to the manager, and ask for one more week, and finally deliver the work in 14 days. 😂
And on top of that, I'll get nominated for employee of the month reward by the manager, for having delivered such a complex piece of work in just 2 weeks. 😂
I can understand your perspective but you need to make a list of things for self care
Otherwise you will burn out and in top of that feel shitty that you are missing on stuff
I can feel you. It's good that you do it before hand but that's not good for your health. Some people do it for mental satisfaction, some do it in fear like if they are doing it right or not. I used to do the same when I was novice. After 2-3 years, I understood the assignment correctly and complete the same asap but started submitng it on the day of completion day.
Same happens with me. I don’t work most of tha days, but if some task is assigned to me which has deadline after 7 days(which I can do easily in 3-4 days) I don’t feel free. I do it in 1-2 days (day and night ) and then only I can relax. Want to escape this trend. Help me.
I believe to be completely opposite almost finish the work at the last moment just 8years in the industry but somehow I have understood that this is not what I want. I have lost all the interest in work, don’t want to read and up skill plus don’t feel like doing anything in life as well. Surely need some help here.
I thought i was the only one who did this. This is definitely not a healthy behaviour and I can feel it.
There is one interesting thing I observed.
For a brief period of time, I was in love with someone. We were just friends but I did love her. During that brief time of 1 year, my OCD never surfaced. I didn't care about Monday's or deadlines. I once asked for an extension on the day of completion without feeling anxious. My work life balance was surprisingly good. I played video games without worrying about my deadlines.
I only realised I was healthy, after we grew apart the next year. And ever since the OCD only gotten real bad for me.
Maybe try having a bit of social life with atleast one person whom you trust and you can speak your mind. You don't have to be in love, just a reason to break out of your work life once in a while. Back in school days, the only thing that encouraged me to go to school everyday was a chance to speak to my crush.
Indirectly, this can have a positive effect on your mental health too. I think. But, I hope you get better.
Yeah as long as I am busy with other tasks its fine but when I am doing nothing I starts giving priority to work instead of just watching movie or game
