Funding doesn't mean shit. Founding engineers are the ones who will bring real value to a hypothetically lucrative company.
I'm a founder too and anything less than 5% for founding team engineer sounds criminal to me.
Are you taking a pay cut to join here? If you are paid near market, then up to founder discretion. Cause frankly, unless you bring some niche, non replaceable skills to the table.
Normally anything in the 0.1 - 0.25% would be par.
My 2 cents.
0.5% to 1% if you have an experience of leading a team of engineers and handling engineering at a scale of 100k dollars in revenue
0.2%~0.5% based on seniority
