My wife is working in a witch company and had 8+ years of experience. Her current post is of project manager. She wants to learn product management and wants to make a switch job. Please guide us.

search about the field first. Lot's of YouTube videos are available about what the product management is. Don't get into hype. If you like it, then there are many good cohorts available, i can say nextleap, only the cheap ones. You can even find like that on YouTube too. Some of them are exponent, pm school, etc

Skills needed: She should develop some skills in atleast 2 of the following - analytics, UX, marketing/strat, Engineering. Transitioning: 1- Try to be at a company in which she can switch to PM or 2- be at a place where atleast she can do some assignments with a co-PM, analytics, design team that'll help her pad up her resume. Best if she can do it in her current place before she starts to apply.

Need guidance, switching from program/category managent role to a PM role

Hey good folks, Iā€™ve have had a decent long career of 9 years now, started with finance for 1 year switched quickly to category/program/ business facing roles for the longest time, I have worked in various edtechs - notable Unacademy initial days, currently working for a fintech company, I have a very good interest in tech as a whole for a long time, product management is the best role for me move forward and switch, I wanted to know a way to switch or learn in the right way, do courses work ? Will only practical experience work ? P.s not exactly a newbie in the space, Iā€™ve identified problems, ideated, built and solved problems via features, functionality and process all in the purview of product + results - one of the reason why I find it extremely interesting What would be an optimal way to become a PM (wouldnā€™t say a right way)
