How to network ?

Hello Everyone

There is a common saying find a mentor, ask people who are experienced, and take advice from people who have what you want

I try interacting with these kinds of better, experienced people than me

Either they have DM open only for people they follow on Twitter, not accept connection requests on LinkedIn

How to approach these people?

I am not playing the victim but how to network when you have nothing of use to them

Plz share your experiences overcoming that or how you got the attention of people who align with your vision

Simplest defination of a mentor: (someone who has a bigger peer network than you and you both actually vibe with each other, mostly this person is elder than you).

I'll explain my case, I meet alot of people in friends gathering and drinking, parties especially the house parties, festive celebration. Note: the idea is not to look for a mentor explicitly, just make friends and chill with them.

**I met one guy in Bangalore at a FRIEND'S BIRTHDAY (house party). He is into ui/ux and I am a SWE. We just became very good friends, and now I meet his peer group with him more often than not. All those are the ones who actually refer me into their companies and many of them are developers(they help me with the technical part of my job as well).

Nice, good points
What about someone who is not going to parties, gatherings, etc

**Try connecting with people your siblings know. **If you don't have siblings then, try going to places like cubbon park in Bangalore. **Try joining new communities, like guitar, skating, reading clubs, or anything you prefer. **If none of the above, then just ask everything out on grapevine.
**note: Do not just look for people in your domain.
