Been there...roadmaps, sprints won't work if there are Ad hoc high priority tasks and these are generally those where founders see quick money coming in example they want to launch a feature requested by a couple of their users, they put a blindfold on their future vision and just start to please their users 
 Talk to founders about long term vision of the product and how to put an end to those ad hoc tasks, believe me adhoc tasks are the only issue and if not fixed you will find team members losing their focus and enthusiasm and ultimately leaving

I have no clue where to get started. I have checked for resources online and learnt a little bit but still really confused where to start.

been working at a product based startup as the only ui/ ux designer for over 6 months now. work is usually solving for and designing new features, or thinking redesign from user grievances. the products were already designed for them by an agency before my joining and feel poorly designed to me, but does the job for the users. decisions regarding usage and the how-tos of implementation are taken by the product leads.

in such a scenario, i don't see myself taking product decisions, but i try to suggest my ideas (mostly accepted) when we frame the requirements and solutions. how do i grow from just largely only designing what my leads tell me, to actually making an impact with the products we have?

background- i'm an electronics engineer, landed a design internship at a startup a little before graduation and they offered a full time role after. accepted it over my placement and it's been over 6 months in this role.

Field is saturated and you will seriously struggle to find work. Not gate keeping, just laying out the reality. If you're up for the challenge then good, if not then you should look at some other fields.

Product design is kind of weird now and is tougher than you think. It is no more a creative field where you can come up with unique ideas or have fun creating stuff. It is intoxicating, tedious and requires constant fighting with the stakeholders, listening to your micro managers and implementing stuff they "ordered" you to do disguised as feedback. Did I say, it is mostly copy work nowadays and portraying it as a whole new feature/design that is unique to your org/team?

It’s 1% creativity, 99% stroking the ego of your managers and bosses just so you don't get laid off.

Hi all senior engineer

I am also an engineer with just 2 years of experience. Recently joined startup and getting so damn tight deadline. The project I'm working on is relatively small but there are so many states update and too frequently.
They don't have any low level design or high level design or any data pipeline or message broker service. Just figma arts which I'm suppose to implement but the state functionality is complex and not able to deliver within time.

What should I do?

Please advise me if you are seeing this doesn't matter good or bad.

I'm good at all the things (I'll say better but I lost my confidence after the incident ) I'm doing but not able to get all functionality done on time. From data science team all API's ready. So please suggest me some idea with your experience.

We have had new designers recently in the team which have made our life hell. Only thing they want is pixels perfect design to be made due to which our projects deadlines have stretched a lot and bothered our work life balance. 
Introducing new designers to a team can bring fresh perspectives, but it seems these individuals might be focused heavily on perfectionism. Their insistence on pixel-perfect designs is causing delays and affecting our team's workflow and deadlines. While their dedication to detail can be commendable, I think it's essential to strike a balance between quality and efficiency to maintain a healthy work-life balance. Also these folks are making everything so design heavy that we also have had CVR drops. New design looks flashy and barely good to use for normal users. Thoughts?

Our team has grown organically in the past couple of years. We have 2 senior designers, 1 mid level designer and 4 junior designers. Have been finding it difficult to find time for each of them. Senior designers who are mentoring junior designers are finding it difficult to complete their work.

I last did a full fledged PM Role 5 years ago at an early stage startup (B2B SaaS). Post that moved on to building my own startup, spent the early years exclusively hands on the product (0-1) but last 28 months or so since my cofounder joined, I let him manage the product strategy and lifecycle since I had to take the lead on Sales and other aspects 

My current work with regards to product is more or less product vision and feedback. I feel I need to up my game in building my product skills to a higher level now as the product is getting mature and we are aiming to go global soon. I unfortunately don’t have anyone to mentor at the moment. 

How should I go about doing this ? Do you think going back to something like a product school for a 15 week Program could help ?  The outcome I hope is set myself on the path to become a good Product Strategy leader with reasonable acumen on processes and systems and at the same time translate the learning to help scale the product better.  

Would be happy to take some ideas or places to look at for one. TIA

Im a Product Manager 1yoe in a SaaS startup.
I had a good experience in the first year. I got to build a product 0-1, competitor analysis, work on creating prioritization frameworks, UAT, content marketing, wireframing.

However, since January the compamy started their stabilization phase, and PM's are now taking care of Sales and lead generation(Content, Ads etc.). The nail in the coffin is we are getting dragged to follow up renewals( Customer Success) 🤢

Im currently motivated to building something new, and it feels like we are being dragged into everything as the company does not want to hire. With no pay hike or any adfitional benefit.

Please advice. Should I look for a new job?
