How to switch to a good company in 1 year
I am 2023 grad. I have joined a product based company. Next year, I want to join a good company like Rubrik, Uber, DE Shaw, Bloomberg etc. What should I learn? How to utilise this year to switch to a good company? PS: For me, a good company means high salary and challenging work environment. I don't care about work life balance.

Apologies in advance in case you find this offensive. Why are we so blindly running behind big tech brands? I understand the need for dignity and respect in the highly judgy Indian society. But the question is, do you enjoy software engineering or tech in general? Do you need a brand on your head to justify it? Just keep learning, focus on your skills, sail through the current dry sea and figure out what you really want to work on.
I have worked as an SDE at Amazon India (Yes, I was running behind brands after college because of youtube bhaiya didis). Now working at a deep tech early stage startup, if you say you like challenging work, you will rarely get to do 0 to 1 type of work in big tech, especially rare in India. Money wise getting more than Amazon band for my role too, with the prospect of making fortune with ESOP.
Not forcing my thoughts on you, but I can relate to you, I was like you as a fresher. Would definitely suggest to introspect, don't be in a hurry for money.
I am not running behind brands. I have mentioned the two things which I want.

Do DSA. Ask referrals and keep interviewing. Market is shit right now but if the work is less challenging, keep upskilling yourself. Dont listen to those who say money ain’t everything. Have a decent salary first
Hi thanks for replying. I am doing DSA only now. But I heard good companies ask LLD and HLD. Which resource should I refer for it?
What's your opinion on Head first design patterns book?
Look out for Grokkling books or course on educative website. Start reading medium blogs

1. Less challenging work environment
2. Less salary
The money which I earn here in 2 year, I would earn there in 1 year. And there would be better career growth too.

I have commented this in some other thread as well, no amount of money is ever enough. Being content and happy will make your life easy, have seen ppl fretting over money, it will only result in sleepless night. Earn enough and more so that you get to lead a decent life with no stress. There will always be someone who buys a ferrari if you can afford to buy a BMW

Focus on strong coding skills and I would also tell you to get started on system design prep. I would suggest system design books by Alex Xu and DSA prep materials are many in the internet so you could follow on that based on your language of choice. Be consistent and regular.
Lastly it is good thing that you are looking for a challenging work environment, but please do keep in mind a challenging work environment without work life balance will hurt you more than the salary paid so keep that in mind when you are trying to move further along in your career. Good luck!
Among the branded big tech companies in India amazon is easiest to get in for men, do leetcode and ask for referrals.
