I am new in this team

I’ve always been mentioned as an excellent performer by my manager since I joined the project. I received good feedback from my manager and team lead as well. Recently I’ve been shifted to a new team and the team mates don’t cooperate at all. As I’m new to the work that I’ve been doing in this team, sometimes I ask for guidance from my team mates or team lead. The team lead hardly responds to my texts. In most of the cases I’ve been learning and solving my problems by myself as I don’t receive any response neither from my team lead nor the other team mate. There was a major issue triggering recently, I was able to find the cause of the problem but I didn’t have much idea on how to solve it properly…regarding which I was constantly informing and asking for the solution to my team lead and my team mate. But neither of them responded and the issue got escalated and my team lead complaint to the manager while being questioned that me and the other team mate weren’t checking on the issue on a everyday basis. The same manager who had always been praising for the quality of my work and performance, questioned me rudely on the issue today that I wasn’t checking on the issue even after being assigned and didn’t let me speak my opinion on it. Nothing… just sharing here out of frustration as I can’t do anything rather than just listening to the seniors. Coz they’re after all “Seniors”/“Managers” and as a fresher we can’t really do anything about it rather than just listening and obeying them. I want your opinions regarding my situation.

Hello world! After a really long and hard struggle panning over a year, I finally switched PM role at an startup. Having managed to go survive college decently and getting a decent analytics job(did APM work as well), I expected the job hunt to be a little easier than what I had to go through, and landing the offer boosted my confidence back a little. I am really excited to start this new role in the next 15 days, feeling very ambitious, and I foresee that the team is small and the role might involve a lot of responsibility and ownership and little less guidance than what I am used to. I am scared a little and my anxiety is kicking in and somehow my confidence seem to be dropping, and I really wanna be good and do good in this new firm. So, reaching out to friends, seniors and all folks of product! Your tips and lessons on the journey of first month or two, for a smoother sail.

So I am a fresher who joined this decent company where they pay me a decent salary. I got allotted to a project in place of an Senior Swe. It's been 2 months and I have been given tickets regarding features requests . The work is not easy at all. The team consists of 5 people where there are only 2 developers me and my manager. He is mostly busy so he just provides me an overview about the code base which is 30 years old . The languages are C, C++ and C#. I have been working on this feature request for the past 3 weeks and the pressure is immense. I am feeling so terrible that I am not able to deliver. I just don't like this feeling. I try and try and try but some things are just way above my expertise. I have always been good at coding but to contribute to a real world project is really tough. It's also quite frustrating as at every step you have to deal with multiple problems. My manager is a good guy overall but today he told me that I really need to amp up my game. And deliver. I just don't like to be mediocre but I am just stuck at this point. Am I overthinking? Or me feeling this way is normal. I just want suggestions from different people of this sub!!

Hi, I am an Android application developer with 10+ years experience and currently serving as a Senior Team Lead in a company. There are already a huge number of developers in mobile application development. To stay in job, I was thinking of making career shift to AI or ML by doing trainings into it. Is this thought process good?

I am thinking of leaving my current job and focus on myself, getting to know myself better etc. Currently I have enough money saved for my expenses for next 6-8 months. Everyone I have asked about this say don't leave your job if you don't have another lined up, in this tech winter. I understand their view point. It aligns with what my parents think as well. Is there anyone who has had done this in the past? Do you recommend this route? Are the consequences far too severe? Does anyone have a different opinion from one stated above?

I (27, Mumbai, India) switched from non-tech background ( commerce) 2 years ago , and started with learning frontend development and grinded very hard despite all odds. And i recently joined (March to be precise) as a React JS web developer. We are a team of all freshers except for the TL of course. Before getting the job, I only focused on the web development part and never learned DSA except for solving codewars sometimes. Now, in my non office hours, I try learning DSA and solving codewars/neetcode problems which takes all that time and I am also reading a book on javascript. But sometimes I get into a dilemma, like it happened today, where I wonder if I am correct to learn DSA and improve logic building and dive deep into javascript, OR should I instead invest my non office hours in diving deep into React JS and also improving my CSS skills (where I suck a lil). I really get into this dillema somedays and end up getting anxious. Please tell me what you think. It would be very helpful, and I would be grateful. Thank you.
