IBM Acquiring Hashicorp💰
What are your thoughts/opinions on this acquisition, any Hashicorp employees here? How is it affecting you people?
It is not uncommon for IBM to acquire specialized skills-focused companies. In the past, IBM has acquired numerous small-scale companies, both recently and in the distant past. This strategy enables IBM to expand its client base and convert existing HashiCorp clients into IBM clients. Although HashiCorp has been acquired, its employees will continue to operate as independent HashiCorp employees until all migration and acquisition formalities are completed, which typically takes one to two years. During this transition period, employees from both IBM and HashiCorp will enjoy significant benefits that may not be available to regular IBM employees. Given the critical nature of this transition period, IBM is keen to retain its talented employees. Consequently, IBM employees who engage with HashiCorp employees during this period will have enhanced opportunities for on-site assignments, promotions, and salary increases. Therefore, if you belong to the same technology domain or possess the relevant skill set, I encourage you to seize any opportunity to work with HashiCorp employees.

Hey, I got an offer from HashiCorp and I wanted to know if you have any idea about what will happen when the acquisition completes. Will HashiCorp start working on IBM products or will they keep working independently for the time being?

I hope it's won't be a Broadcom/VMWare situation.
