ISB vs MiM
I cleared ISB stage 1 today, I need your insights to decide whether to go for an MBA in India or MiM abroad wrt ROI, career growth and trajectory. Where will I make more money considering it’s a very important factor I want to get into IB/Consulting/PEVC
I have worked with any top tier MBA graduates but ISB people are best with high emotional intelligence and empathy!

Do you know why this could be the case?

Less entitlement for starters.

I will let others chime in. But ISB isn't good for IB/PEVC. For consulting, it's great as McK, BCG, Bain hire in huge numbers from there.

Spot on. ISB is not for IB. Consulting too is not a walk in the park. If you’re from an IIT/Prem UG and have a CGPA of 3.7+ it’s possible

Oh, then what’s the way to get these finance jobs?

1. Depends on where you want to work: MiM is great if you want to work abroad. ISB is great for India. This is an important factor as your network will mostly be in the country that you graduate in.
2. ISB is amazing for consulting, strategy roles, PM. Not great for IB/PE/VC at all (know of folks that came from IB/VC and went back to the same but I’m guessing that’s not relevant for you)

Oh! What is the way to get into IB/PEVC? How likely I’m to convert Consulting (tier 1 DU college)
No idea about IB/PE.
Consulting requires great GPA + consulting interview prep. Very attainable if you know that’s what you want to do and consistently work towards interview prep/ cv/ gpa while at ISB
lots of good resources and help will be provided at the school as well

Purely from free cash flow perspective MiM will bring more $
Landing IB from either MiM or ISB is unlikely
Would strongly recommend ISB over MiM coz post-graduation roles will be a level higher at ISB

Which university’s MiM? I just graduated from LSE, UK market is horrendous if you have no prior work experience

OMG 😭 I was thinking of LBS, HEC, INSEAD majorly, and was hoping to get a job in London, what do I need to do for that considering the situation you mentioned

You are comparing completely different geographies/universities. Going to HEC/Insead means that you won’t qualify for the grad visa which allows you to work in the UK for two years sponsorship free. France is a different market altogether.
If you can afford it outright go for LBS. That is if you’re set on living/working in London.
ISB vs MiM is an apples vs oranges comparison. ISB is an MBA programme while the MiM is for early career students with little to no work experience. Europeans usually do this to supplement their undergraduate degrees. You’re still considered a ‘Fresher’ and will be applying to graduate roles in the UK. So, the cohort is younger and many will probably go on to do MBAs as well in the future after working. I completely my masters and I’m still 22 so yeah.
