  1. Understand how AI and Gen AI works in general.

  2. Get familiar with Gen AI and its potential usage in your day-to-day work.

  3. Apart from AI, try to check what is more in demand as per your experience and try to upskill in those areas as well (e.g. Full stack or DevOps).

  4. Work on your soft skills, once you get more experience (in duration/years), soft skills can be a great differentiator between you and someone who is technically great but is not so good soft skills wise.

Remember to do these at a sustainable pace without stressing a lot about it.

As a Data Scientist and ML Engineer having extensive experience as a freelancer as well as full-time employee, I think the most important thing you should do is to leave Java and get hands-on experience with either R or Python.
