Software QA(Automation) having 3 yrs of exp with Salary 12LPA , thinking of switching to Backend dev role . Although here are my few queries : 

1. Is QA domain good in long run with respect to salary .
2. Will Dev role be difficult to adapt , as i have exp in development but only in writing test scripts .
3. How much should i expect the staring dev salary to be as compared to my current CTC ?
4. Is it a good switch , say if i stay in QA domain for 2 more years then i guess CTC would be around the ball park of 18 - 20 LPA . But if i switch to dev and gain 2 years of exp will it be able to match the salary of QA ?

Career as QA Analyst.

Hey guys,

So i was asking questions to one engineer manager about quality analyst. I asked her how sdet as field in general as i already have 5 years of experience in QA field. Learning side by side coding for a next switch. She said do something else except QA as in her experience, her previous companies do not have QA team itself. So i am little confused as a career path. So wanted to ask how you guys software at your workplace and does sdet role will have significance in this market in future?

Hi Guys- i have 3.3 yrs of experience and Need to understand the scope of automation testing now and in future, since I can do little coding stuff does it makes sense switch to dev, if that is the case then which technology I can choose.

I have around 4 years of experience in QA field where i do manual testing. So i changed my field to frontend dev in pursuit of good salary and thought that software developer will have more roles. My previous company invested little bit in me but did not give any major projects. Then they fired me on basis of lack of logical skills. So i started looking for QA roles and dev role. Also i get to know that sdet roles are also a thing where people can earn as much as sde. 

Now the problem starts, i was laid off and given 1 month salary. So i found one job which is remote and it is of QA job . Until this point i made my mind that i will move on sdet path . Then my friend has referred me to one company before my layoff. So they scheduled one tech interview for frontend dev and i cleared it. I cleared it because my friend give me problem😅. Also there is no hr round and they also released offer. Now the problem is i have joined QA role. i am little bit scared that what if i joined sde role and same thing again happens to me. Little company fires me for not completing my task on time. Then i will lose my current job too and i have to start from zero.

Compensation details -

QA role - 9 LPA
Sde role - 10 LPA

Both are remote. Sde role can be on-site. In my mind , mostly i will reject sde role due to fear. Want to know opinions.

Confused about job role

Working as a QA in manual testing with 11 years experience. I want to change my role now. Please suggest which is the good one.

I hold a 3 yr experience in QA, and I tend to be the favourite tester/Quality Analyst for my clients as well.
Before that I was a flutter developer for 4 months and i enjoyed development.
I continued to work on flutter in my free time in parallel with QA tasks.
But i have no written proof or experience in flutter.
I left it after 1 year as managing both were difficult.
I want to start picking flutter again, but  somewhere I think I would not be an efficient developer as I'm an efficient and a good QA.

Can someone please help me here?
Help me to understand if i should pick flutter or not?
N if I should, will I get a higher pay than I am receiving today?

Hi all, 
I am a recent BCA graduate , from tier 3 college. I was hoping that i would get a chance to work on amazing techstack when i joined Deloitte but unfortunately they onboarded me pretty late and i had already rejected offers for few organisations for the role of SDE, junior AI/ML associate and so on in the respective field. I did this because i was hoping that Big4 is a better place to learn and grow. When i joined in Feb 23 i was given training on Software Testing where i don’t have interest and i tried reaching higher ups but they told i might get a chance to work on tech i am interested in when i get projects. So i pursued this and got project on Testing as well, there also people said if you want to work on other areas there is no guarantee but you can help the developers as well and learn. Maybe you will get the chance to shift from QA but no guarantee. 
I am so frustrated with my current position, wherever i am applying they are not hiring me for the reason of having irrelevant experience and i can’t do internships as my family condition is not good and i have to constantly support them. I am stuck between quitting and taking a break due to financial problems but if i continue this how will i build relevant experience and switch to a different organisation. 

I request everyone to kindly help me getting a clarity, what should i do ? 
Can anyone help me get a different job role somewhere else? 
I am open to work in the field of Data and AI , Analytics as well.

Thinking of quitting the firm, need Help!

I have 2 years of experience in Manual Testing. 
I took a break (personal reason) along with that I had joined scaler. 
Now, I can’t seem to solve DSA questions properly. 
Talking about languages like : Java, JS(vanilla, react, node) is fine. 
What do I do to get a job ASAP ???

Hi Folks I'm graduated in 2023 from a Tier 3 College with 7LPA at a startup 
I'm working here in automation but framework is company built and I'm feeling like I'm learning nothing
I want to switch to dev 
But these DSA and everything scare me I'm good to nothing
And I don't see a scope in Quality Engineering
And I have a student loan to pay of its of sum around 8 Lakhs
I want to switch to a high paying job
Because I live with my family
I pay rent 15k Sister takes care of groceries and stuff
I need high pay job but I feel I'm good to no where
What should I do please, tell me how to handle stuff
Sometimes I panic and cry alone 
Need  your suggestion please will matter a lot to me 🙏

Quality Engineer is Good or Bad

Currently I am working as an SDE - 1(8 base) in gurugram, I received an offer for an automation engineer role from Sprinklr (16.5 base). I am 2023 grad from IIIT and have a good knowledge of DSA and System Design. Some days back I received an SDE-1 offer from a Singapore stealth startup(13 base) but couldn't join them. Now I have this offer, I am still looking to switch to SDE-1 position, but due to the market situation not getting enough interview calls. So is it advisable to join an automation role and look for the SDE roles in parallel? since I believe that sprinklr tag will help me in getting the opportunities but I don't know whether my resume will be shortlisted for the SDE roles if I have an automation role in my resume. Please give your honest opinion and help me to make the decision..

My Friend wasted few years in gov job preparation. Lost all hope, frustrated and depressed, is 29yr old. Hates math, so no programming. 
He's curious about the Test Engineer path, needs some help about how to start and how get an intern level job in a startup.

I have 7 years of experience as a manual tester. In terms of my coding knowledge I'd rate myself 2/10.

I'm married with a daughter who will be turning 1 very soon.
Considering the inflation and increased cost of living, I think my CTC is pretty average.

A developer having 2-3 yoe generally earns the same or more than I do. All my friends are earning shit ton of money and I feel like I can't compete with them.

I don't have to compromise on anything if I want it or need it but I know I can't live a lavish life with what I earn currently.

Here are some questions that come into my mind:

1. Should I switch from testing to development?
2. How much growth can I expect just being in testing?
3. If I were to make a switch to development, what tools, language should I aim for(considering my coding is really poor)
