So I've been fed his podcasts a lot lately by the YouTube algo. And while it's amazing one of India's best startup entrepreneurs is getting really good guests to come on his show, I just can't stand him.
He interjects before the guests have a chance to finish their thought and at times it feels like the podcast is a platform to air his views rather than the guests. Especially his insistence on traumatic childhoods as a prerequisite for greatness and why capitalism is best.
PS: Please don't come at me like his fans in the comments, legit want to know if this is just me or something others feel too.
He cheated in a charity chess game 🤦♂️
If he's actually giving away lakhs of rupees every podcast then I couldn't care less 😂
Is he giving lakhs away?
Traumatic childhood lmao 😂 I do find it a bit funny but otherwise I don't really find him irritating tbh. Any opinionated person would want to express and take the conversation in a particular direction.
It's his podcast after all 🤷🏻♂️
Yeah I guess so. But if he wants to do that he doesn't need guests. In the last podcast episode with VCs he literally told Rajan I want a juicy answer from you about traumatic childhoods when it comes to what makes a successful entrepreneur. Rajan looked flummoxed AF 🤣
Maybe they were flummoxed because they didn't have harsh childhoods 🤣
Yeah felt the same, even before podcasts I used to watch his interviews and all.
In the last two episodes I felt that he interjects a lot. Then again we’re not seeing the whole convo, some parts might be edited out, so for us it might seem like he is interrupting.
But compared the mainstream podcast guys, I felt that Nikhil has more knowledge and experience about stuff he’s talking about, mainly he is into investing and is prolly learning a lot about different sectors.
Like someone in the thread mentioned I also felt that he’s opinionated and low-key plugs them in the episode, his podcast and he is entitled to do so.
But who isn’t? Most of us are, we feel like that when we hear a point of view that is opposite to ours. I watch at 1.5x, sometimes 1.75x speed and just take away the good stuff.
But his channel is way better than most popular channels and choice of guests are also relevant to the topics discussed.
His and the barbershop podcast are two very nice shows I'd like to see more of. Raj shamani is okay ish. Not a lot of good Indian podcasts in the space otherwise.
Will check out the barbershop, the problem I saw with Raj, is the sometimes the questions become generic and some episodes are in Hindi.
Trying to add reading to my evenings too apart from youtube, so I don’t watch everything these days.
One more thing I’ve realised is that you learn a lot about the channel’s intentions just by having a glimpse of the comments.
Seriously. The recent VC podcast is one such egample. The guest were one of the best in the industry and kept interrupting the. It was so annoying

This influencer with a massive following on YouTube laid me & my team off within a week of hiring since apparently they have deferred their Series A. Bro, why didn't you figure it out before I joined. They bumped off Sourcing, D2C sales ...
Bro there's Sham in the name. What else did you expect.
Is it worth it? I take up bad habits very easily
