Hi, I have over 3.5 years of experience in IT and working at a service based company. I'm working in Oracle PaaS tech stack and not sure how much scope it has because not every organisation uses it. To switch technologies is difficult within an organization, unless you are lucky to have a project like that. I was thinking to consider MBA in business analytics because of the same. I am working since 2 years in IT industry and am thinking of not leaving job and doing online MBA from a top Institute. I am not very interested in IT and want to change my field in Marketing or Finance side. Fess is 10 lakh rs.

Does mba helps in long term? I know in short term it doesn't pay as much as sdes. But in long term sdes have salaries capped after certain stage. So if one decides to go into executive position, does not having mba hinders the process. Has anyone experienced this non - sense. I know this doesn't happen in usa, there people from philosophy background can go into higher position on the basis of merit or politics:). But here in India how's the scenario. Please put your thoughts.

Is it beneficial to do Online MBA or PGPWP from IIM’s, considering that the fees is ~20LPA and the classes are conducted online or on weekends. I am currently working in a big 4 with 5years of experience in tech consulting and earning ~ 30LPA, leaving current job will be a difficult decision, therefore I have been considering such courses. My current employer might not be able to give me any promotion on this basis but will it help in long run and help in switching to MBB’s ? 
Also, does the degree of these courses specify online or anything which sets it apart from regular course degree?

It’s quite expensive to pursue one, but I’m worried not doing it will stagnate my career long term. Any views on whether I should apply (4yrs work experience currently, have worked in a boutique consulting firm previously).

Is doing MBA in India worth it?

Okay I know the headlines sounds very gimmicky like a fresh out the boat 18 year old who’s just finished watching Wolf of Wall Street and is trying to sell you his “crappy” pen. 

However I’m only posting this cause I had seen people debating and wondering if they should do an online MBA / global MBA or which uni to do it from? 

I tried helping a few people and I know there’s still a lot of people who are confused so I just wanted to help them out like a guardian angel. 😌😂

Also if there are any other genuine counsellors here who can help people by all means go ahead and let’s just bring back some value to the title “Academic Counsellors” as it’s been really turned into a joke by some.
