Isn't it high time that Indian school-going students stop studying hard to write an exam on what happened centuries ago?

The message I want to convey- In Indian schools, history is considered an important subject just like english, maths, and science. While it is important to know what happened in the country in the past, it is much more important to learn skills necessary for the present and future. Two necessary skills according to me are finance and maturity. All schools must implement these subjects as main ones and put history as a non-important one. The passing marks for history must also be less. Children will become future-ready at an early age.
