It’s better to get fired in first wave
In the first wave you get a really good severance, going away parties, career support, extended health benefits, sympathy, and so on. Plus the job market is still a bit hot so chances of finding another gig is higher. Later waves creates troubles, the job market is freezing cold when you are pushed out.
I would rather keep my job and hope the cut was deep enough instead of finding high paying job and hoping they won’t pay me off in last in first out method.
