It’s better to get fired in first wave

In the first wave you get a really good severance, going away parties, career support, extended health benefits, sympathy, and so on. Plus the job market is still a bit hot so chances of finding another gig is higher. Later waves creates troubles, the job market is freezing cold when you are pushed out.
