Just joined a new internship

I joined Morgan Stanley India as a spring intern this January. I was supposed to work for 6 months and would have been converted to a full time employee post the internship. I worked my ass off and got outstanding feedback from my manager (VP) and their managers as well (ED). On the other hand I kept asking my manager about my progress and chances of conversion. He assured me that I was an extraordinary intern and he kept assigning me work other than my project. I also interacted with other people in the organisation and received great feedback from them (upto MD level). Now coming to last week, I had a chat with my manager about the same, he informed me that the organisation has gone into a hiring freeze just 2 weeks back and thus I won't be getting converted to a FTE. Also this info is not public yet and a lot of the other interns have no idea what the situation is here. The people in my team have offered to help me out with opportunities outside the firm but there's nothing they can do inside for me. The most they can do is give me LORs but nothing more. I am a recent graduate with 2 years of experience as an intern at multiple startups and MNCs. Can the folks here help me out. Also is there anything I can do at the firm?

Long post ahead!!! Its been around a year since I've started working in a service based company as a Frontend dev, WLB, compensation and all is good based on I've just started. During this year of working I do not feel like I've done anything, our team is working on a product for past 2-3 year and its nearing the completion. My role was mostly to cordinate with testing team and solve frontend bugs and minor addition to the project (which was mostly copy pasting), even doing these minor task took me some time initially and I still have to take help from seniors time to time. I got kinda bored with all the repetitive task and I requested my manager to assign me to other development happening within team, he agreed and assigned me some different task but I cant seem to understand anything here, I get stuck in the most basic things, I feel stupid when I am not able to come up with easy solutions. I am seeing other engineers learning new tech stacks in a small amount of time and getting hold of it while i am not able to understand things in my own tech stack. I've recently gotten a appraisal as well(my company is quite good and gives it to everyone) and I feel like I don't deserve a bit of it. I am a 2023 graduate , I did MCA because that was the only good option I could see for myself(mostly cz of money) at that time earlier to that I did a bachelor's (Non CS) without gaining any knowledge of anything. My basics are not that good, In college my only focus was to get a job so I did DSA and some front-end development using ReactJS(projects mostly code along with ytube) to be able to grab a good placement. Is software engineering not for me? If no, then how do I overcome this, i don't wanna be a mediocre.

Best if I ask them, rather than assuming things! - When you crack SDE Internship(MAANG types) at a big tech giant, do they give you general work or place you in a department that is along the lines of your projects and/or OSS contributions. Say I've got intermediate mobile engineering skills under my belt, will that be my department for the duration of the internship or I'll be expected to code to other 'alien-to-me' parts of the codebase. -What degree of skill proficiency do they expect. I'm sure I'm not founding any companies single handedly but still, for the heck of it: how skilled would you need to be to survive interning there daily? Recently joined a company.We majorly work in c and c++ . It has been a few months since I joined the company but it feels like I haven't really learnt anything new nor am I contributing majorly in any way . In this time span I have rarely coded and it feels like it is affecting my career deeply, especially being a fresher in this domain.I want to know the possible ways to tackle this situation and what else that you guys recommend.

Hey everyone, heading into my first internship this summer, no other work experience and want to hear from full time employees on the lesser known things that secure the return offer. By this I mean things other than being able to adapt to work, ask questions, not making same mistake over and over - basically the things that aren't talked about but from your perspective really makes huge a difference in your opinion on the intern. I am a new grad working at a big MNC as a Data Analyst. It's extremely beurocratic and slow. We do meets all day and no work, it's as if we are paid for meetings. I was quite excited about it as I though I would be working on interesting ML projects (I find ML and AI quite interesting). But all I have been working on is projects where you try to maintain fucked up legacy stuff. I see a way out, startups where I would actually build stuff, use my skills to solve actual problems. Is this perception correct? Will work actually be more interesting and useful in startups? I am also concerned about the pay? Although I earn a pretty average salary even here, I suspect it might be lower in startups. But I have a gut feeling that I will learn, and grow a lot more working at startups coupled with networking with entrepreneurial people which should result in higher earnings in the long run. Again is this perception correct?

Context: I work at a startup, it's a pretty chill work environment, very flexible, hybrid model. Everything is great. Problem: They take flexible work hours too seriously, I have meetings at 10 PM on weekdays and almost every weekend there's some work which they need the next day in most cases but apparently have to keep the meeting on the weekend with no prior notice. I mean, i like going to office twice a week around 11-12 and coming back around 7, wfh when I have a few meetings that day but is it normal to work on weekends? and after work hours? P.S. I've only been in this company for a month and joined as a fresher. Now that I've put it down, this is such a gen z problem lol But what should I do?

If you mess up on a client engagement and can't finish a task properly? What happens ? What are the repercussions? I'm a fresher and I don't know what to do anymore ? Is this normal ? It's only been 7 months here , I'm a campus hire and I feel out of my depth? Seniors don't help that much as they're too busy? My anxiety is really high and I don't know really know what to do anymore. Any tips advice would be helpful?

Hi all, I am currently interning at a US medical device healthcare giant. Its been close to 5 months I'm here. Till now I haven't been assigned any implementation tasks All I get to do is dry runs, debugging and documentation PPO is also not guaranteed. It's based on performance. I feel very scared what would happen if I don't get the PPO. Apart from that, I feel shy asking help from seniors because a) They are super busy. Always on meetings b) I feel they would think I'm stupid for asking silly doubts Even no proper KTs have been given. It's like F around and figure out. Please advice me how to actually come out of this situation. This is my first corporate experience and I feel worried and scared each day

I was hired as a front end intern starting from june1 but all they give Me is copy paste work If I resign now will I get my stipend . There is nothing to learn for me in this company
