About me:- B.E. in extc 2018 batch Mumbai University. In 2019 I joined TCS as fresher, stayed there 7 months. Left for IIT Mtech aspiration. Prepared fulltime gate exam 2020, 2022, 2023. Did not worked. 2021 was medical issues and job crunch period for me. In 2024, I have joined an offline IT training institute full stack java. 

My worry is: after gaining 2+ years experience in small company for the time being, will this 5 year gap still create problems at the time of lateral job switches into FANG?

Kindly advice me on 5 year career gap.

If someone has close to 3 years experience as a software developer after completing B.tech and wants to pursue M.tech, but for some reason he could not clear the GATE exam and wants to join as a software developer after 1 year of preparation gap.

I want to know what will be the impact of this while searching for a job after one year of preparation gap?

A friend, Graduated in 2017, wasted 5 years in govt exams. In 2022 he stopped and got into an IT startup as java developer. He has almost 2 years experience now. 

He has upskilled DSA and Development very well in these years. If he applies to any FANG companies in future, is he an eligible candidate? 
Do they allow such justified gaps? 
Which big tech companies explicitly have anti gap policies?

Hey , I'm Btech CSE graduate from PTU Jalandhar ( completed in sept 2022) after that worked for 5-6 months as data analyst ( non - tech field ) and from there onwards did nothing for a year due to hiring freeze , joinings revoked in TCS Infosys. as I was less skilled in coding n all that time so not eligible for big companies and layoffs happening since then.

And , now I know HTML CSS JS REACT SQL C++ Basic DSA, git .OOPS DBMS 
So,  Please guide me how to find a job in these times .(considering a year gap also ).
I'm in fear and anxiety.
