Language barrier

I don't know if this topic is gonna be controversial but still I'll write. Honestly while hiring in india, doesn't the interviewer check if the person knows whether to speak in English or not. I mean like man Accenture is a top MNC and people who work here don't know how to speak in English? How did they even get hired 🤷🏾 Most of my colleagues are from Pune locations and 85% of em can't converse in english correctly. They always speak in either Hindi or Marathi. I don't blame them if they speak with the other person who's from the same location and speaks the same language. But at least during the project townhall where people from different locations are gathered where english should be the common medium. My manager is a civil graduate and has 0 technical knowledge, even he's very unprofessional and speaks in Hindi all the time during daily calls. Even after repeated requests he doesn't follow some good protocols. See I'm not blaming just the people of Pune. I believe it's the same in other states as well. I don't feel very professional working in such a manner.
