A better metric would've been a PhD with research papers published and how good their # of citations is w.r.t to their sub-domain and the quality of the journals but ok, let's be stuck with brand names 🤦‍♂️

Tbh the rationale behind such requirements is for raising funds. I have seen startup founders putting the university logos of the employees in the pitch deck to convince investors that they employ the "best".
