Hey all, I've recently recieved a couple of offers in the product management space and would be grateful if y'all could help me weigh in the pros and cons.
Context: I'm a Tier-1 engineering grad with <1 yoe.
1. Product analyst at an insanely profitable, bootstrapped startup in the gaming space (industry of preference). The product and strategy are best in class and would be a great learning experience. I would be working in the team associated with their primary cash cow business unit. However, I've heard that the working hours are slightly long and wlb would take a hit. Also, my pay would be quite high and if I were to make a switch for an APM role, there would be very few options that would give a hike over this given my YOE.
2. Associate Product Manager at Flobiz, a Fintech pivoting to be a neobank for SMEs. This was my first offer and on informing the HR that I would be taking up the other offer, the co-founder who had taken my final interview has requested me for a chat. The work culture seems great with a strong alumni network currently in the firm. They are ready to match the pay as well but ESOPs would probably not be liquidated any time soon. The brand name is inferior as well, compared to the other firm.
