Monday morning and nobody at office. We have no option but to force strict rules now: 

1. If you arrive any later than 9:55 in office, it will be marked as half day leave. 

2. Lunch breaks are supposed to be max 40 mins long. I accept basic courtesy of following this, if not, I’ll tag people on the group. 

3. All leaves requests need to be emailed to me. Without any record on email, we might not be able give a record of how many leaves in each bracket are left for each individual. So don’t expect this data from us, if you don’t email.

Sequoia India used to host a hackathon. That used to be some epic stuff. Lots of really good devs used to come and make some kickass products. Post that I have been to numerous hackathon and it rarely makes a dent in quality of outputs. What do you guys think we can do to make hackathons great again? Most of the events these days are closed events for within a company. 

I'll start with some suggestions:
1. Have a decent prize money
2. Output should be judged on factors like completeness, business readiness, quality, usecase definition etc
3. Have good sponsors backing the cause so that we get awareness about the event.
4. Also support good innovation as well. Not like yet another Chat GPT coding assistant

Please add on to this. How can we have a great one again. Looking for ideas and if we end up with a decent suggestion then we can try to setup a hackathon of our own completely.

I also would like to know some prominent hackathons contest names and where to find them??? I saw one of the IIITD students who took part in an IITD hackathon. I am looking for people or teams that are really interested in deep diving into blockchain space (I am talking about consensus, networking, finality etc). I am planning to attend a lot of hackathons where we can build stuff and present it.

If anybody knows someone who is interested or any groups that are already there, please connect me to them or share link of groups.

You might be wondering why I am asking this here, honestly I didn't find any place to ask this especially in India, also I really wanted to see if people are really there who are genuinely interested in building and learning not just doing it for the sake of resume.

Remember when I was in college, we had a really great hackathon culture, being conducted offline in Bangalore. AngelHack, Amazon Sambhav, FutureSkills by Nasscom, Ideathon. 

After COVID hit and Web3 became a buzzword, all I see is web3 hackathons where folks just copy a pre-written smart contract from GitHub and it doesn't even work. Most of these are online where you don't even get to see what others have built.
I have seen someone winning 3rd prize by showing Figma prototype 🤦‍♀️. Same goes for meetups as well.

Really miss the days where we had no clue on Friday what we're going to build and coming home with $500 in prize on Monday mornings.

I've selected Golang for the backend in order to create software.
