Looking to start a side hustle
Hi All, I am looking to start a side business. Thinking of selling ethnic clothing as reseller on amazon, myntra. I have a full time job and not looking to leave it. Any suggestions/ comments/ any experiences??
You won't be able to save anything. Amazon and flipkart charges around 150-300 rupees per order, so if you are not a manufacturer there are chances you will end up in loss.

^this. Need to have very good margins to be able to sell on platforms and earn well enough from it. Very difficult unless you are a manufacturer.
Amazon especially is a nightmare when it comes to accounting and RTO.
But how many of them will be manufacturers??? I guess most will source some clothing from somewhere and resell.

Why not do it on Dukaan or Shopify? Try to create your own brand/niche? Amazon and all are very competitive for new comers. Would suggest the above.
You can use facebook/instagram advertising to drive sales for your website.
Sure why not… i am open to trying… my first objective is to get started, get my hands dirty, get some confidence.
I do understand that building a brand is key to success but at this point I don’t want to do too many things and have a simple objective first get some experience and to get started.
If you need supplier for jaipuri kurti/ sanganeri print shirts, can connect with someone reliable and low cost good quality, min lot 1000 pc at ₹250-300 each.
As a suggestion don't start from Amazon / Myntra, start form Instagram you'll make money easier, also gift few units to college girls with <2000 followers in targeted t1 cities, don't play the masses at beginning.

Why specifically ethnic? Do you have experience?
I dont have any experience, but I have seen my friends and family members esp ladies looking for ethnic clothing… i come from a tier 2 city.
And i feel that I should start somewhere. I dont understand really fashion that Zara sells, why do girls buy it… the personality types etc.
So i am thinking ethnic would be the best way to start.
Also this is something my family will relate with too.

Ethnic clothing is pretty seasonal. Plus still most people prefer to buy it from the shop. If you don't have a prior experience in ethnic clothing look into something that can be sold all day. You will learn faster about this business.
I know this…. Hence looking to resell some speciality ethnic clothing. For example, kashimiri kurtas for women, you don’t get this everywhere
