Massive Layoffs at HealthTech Startup
50% layoff at a Bangalore based health tech startup. Founder had no shame or guilt. Has raised funding recently but chose to fire people again. This is the third layoff in the last 1.5 years. Terrible management, declined variable pay. Severance is to paid in the next 4 months. Just trying to pivot the company into ‘AI’ without any plan whatsoever.
HealthifyMe is the Startup. They are having other PR articles to cover this shit now

AI is the new buzzword to get funding. Client just wants to see AI being implemented somewhere in their business so that they can write on their website something like AI driven company. If a startup suddenly starts to preach about AI, be prepared for some changes.

All are force fitting AIs into there usecase
The company has been struggling to raise funds the last year or two. The lay offs happened on Thursday and only a shell of a company remains.
It's was also conveniently a day before the election, so less press attention.

They've successfully reduced their weight it looks like.
I worked there for 9 months.
Toxic AF. The whole company. Every fucking team was toxic. Sad people have to pay the price.
The upper management is completely filled with Delulu people. And they are a tight Nexus. They don't let anybody enter them as well. A VP joined and resigned in less than 6 months.
This is the story in all unicorns/ large startups. The leadership is impossible, the founders are immature and the culture sucks b**ls. It is a struggle to find a good place to work anymore tbh. I am scared to join a large scale Indian startup anymore. There is zero merit, only cliques and leaders who can’t tell their bum from their head.

Lot of dumb founders are there. Funding winter just exposed them. VCs should black list these founders and ensure they don't open another start up and screw entire eco and spoil the name of our country
It's 75 perc of initial workforce over 3 layoffs in just the last 1.5 years.

Some times investors link burn reduction to new capital. Might not be voluntary.
There were a lot of other ways to mitigate the burn which wouldn't have been this fatal. The founder was reckless.
