Moving to EU for M.Tech and job opportunities
I'm a fresher working as a Data Analyst. I'm thinking of going to the EU for an Mtech in ML (Computer Vision) in 2025. I'm looking at Sweden, Germany, Norway etc for the same. My long term goal is to settle down in the same country. I'm aware that job opportunities compared to the US are far less in Europe, but I wanted to know if I should stick to my plan or consider the US for my future plans. My priorities are living conditions, social security benefits, and salary, in that order. Thank you so much if you leave any advice below!
I cannot answer for for the US but in EU the main priority will be given for the work life balance. You will have enough time for yourself to invest in and also you can travel a lot in EU
However the salaries in EU are far less than US along with a high tax rates.
In EU, depending on the country you choose you may be obligated to learn the local language for day to day activities for eg Germany.
I have always heard from my friends the number of holidays in US is very less however in EU you will have plenty of holidays.
If I have to sum it up, if your concern is not earning lot of money and if you don’t mind learning a new language (if required based on the country) if would suggest EU.
If you need lavish lifestyle with lots of money and don’t mind working with less holidays and somewhat stressful lifestyle then it is US
Hope it helps. These are may feelings and I would recommend you to do the due diligence before taking any decisions
All the best
