My boss is likely moonlighting

I'm currently working on an FTE job - wherein the offer letter its mentioned "During the term of your employment with the Company, you may not engage in any employment or act in any way, which either conflicts with your duties and obligations to the Company, or is contrary to the policies or the interests of the Company." Now, I'm getting enough time and I want to consider working in a 0-1 startup, and the new company I'm joining will know about my current employer - The above mentioned is the only clause the current employer have regarding working in other company. Can the current employer legally put a case anytime in the future if they get to know this? - what are the loopholes I can use here? What position I can join in as (Consultant, Advisory role) - Still an early career professional in order to avoid conflict afterwards. Thank you for your help!!

Is working on your own startup while in MNC a moonlight case, will it lead to serious blow from your company. Wanted to know the opinion what happens when your manager finds out that you also run a startup. What are the possibile things you can do to avoid this ? Any recommendations by anyone . Or any things to be aware of ?

1. Over estimating the efforts 2. Office gossips 3. Moon lighting 4. Unrealistic Salary demands 5. Completely under-utilised but still complaining of overwork.

So it’s barely been a month since I’ve joined this company and my manager has already started dumping his workload to me on weekends and at odd hours late in the night. Now he’s not a horrible person but I hate how normalised this culture is at this entire organisation. I get it if I’m a founder or working at a startup, I have to be prepared to hustle but not at a big corporation. And the irony is that I once needed something urgently from someone based in Europe from our team but my manager asked me to call him the next day since that person was out of his working hours while I was on a call with my manager at 1:18am….. I’ve also noticed how casually he calls me everyday post 9pm to ask for updates or give a new task. My work hours end by 6pm. I really want to to establish certain boundaries, and not want to work on weekends. I’m a biker, and I’ve been cancelling all my biking plans on weekends just cause of this. How do I go about this without it negatively affecting my ratings/impressions etc.?? I have a life smh. (Writing this while I’m working on a Sunday)

So I have a colleague who has like 8 YOE. He is working at a seed stage startup where I also work. We have a very lean team. He joined a big MNC back in December but continued to work with us alongside. I got to know in February that he's working two jobs. I didn't share it with the team because he was leaving by mid April types. Owing to closing FY, I started noticing weird things where the database was manually altered. After a lot of investigation, I found that this colleague was messing with DB and making him small amounts of money since 2022. 4 months after he joined us! Our founders still don't know about his working at the other company. Not sure if I should share it with the founders now. He got fired yesterday for financial fraud from our company.

Is Moonlighting common at Start-ups? How is the work culture at Start-ups, in my startup where i am working, the work culture is too bad, it seems no one cares about the company. Everyone has their own priority and they are using the company for their growth.

Was working at a startup, its shutting down and in the meanwhile I am building something on the side. To fund the startup I need cash and some specialised resources. Hence freelancing and working three extra Jobs 1 freelance 1 full time pays half of my last full-time job Another freelance project What are your thoughts, some of the work I have outsourced to a reliable dev. I know this sounds crazy to some would you do this?

I recently made a switch and joined this remote organization. Off late, I’ve realized its a bunch of scammers and pseudo-visionaries who are running that shitshow. Surprisingly its a large company and money is flowing in. I report directly to the CEO and he expects me to ‘nag’ him or ‘spam’ him all the time with WA texts. G**ndu wouldn’t reply to my texts for days at a stretch, won’t reply to emails but call me out in a company townhall saying he didn’t hear any update. When I pointed out that I’m waiting on his feedback, his point was that I didn’t escalate! Who tf do I escalate about the CEO to? And why is it okay to expect an employee to spam on text messages. Don’t you want them to respect your time ffs? Goes on to only say how he doesn’t value his own time. Now everytime I get a WA notification, my anxiety spikes up. Is this toxicity even normal and acceptable?
