My company is taking advantage of the current hiring scene

I’ve observed that there is no empathy anymore. People are being asked to do double the amount of work in my org. I think they are taking advantage of the current market and just being cocky. I’m also listening this from my friends in other companies. Did you observe something similar ?

I'm getting same complaints from ex Co workers from my previous company. They are trying to switch but apparently they are getting so overworked that they can't prepare for interviews.
