Need Suggestions/Advice

I'm working on a fintech B2C idea and need some advice. It's quite a complex idea, in a regulated industry (of course). I'm fairly good at developing apps (self taught web and mobile app dev) and currently working alone on this. I'm planning to use Flutter and GO to create the MVP. I'm experienced in Flutter but have no idea about GO. Currently working remotely (not enough savings to work on the idea full time). Need some suggestions on:

  1. Should I learn GO or use ChatGPT or GitHub Copilot?

  2. Since it's a fintech product (a highly regulated industry), how scrappy can I be regarding building and launching the MVP asap?

  3. I've not worked in fintech, although I was a co-founder before (failed startup). Should I rather focus on building and launching the product by doing it all myself or take some time into looking for a co-founder?

  4. I know that this is something that just cannot be bootstrapped (navigating in the grey areas of regulations, lobbying etc). Should I just put my head down and hustle it out till product launch or do I start looking to raise capital? Any angels or VCs that will actually fund an idea (especially in these times)?

Just looking to make better decisions by getting some opinions/suggestions/advice!

Questions and thread discussions are most welcome!

Great idea but do customers want it? Have you done the research

Also MVP is not scrappy until you get the money stuck. After that it will be nightmare

Yes, I've done my research, including talking to potential users. But overall, I don't have the answer to "Do customers want it" because it's not even launched.

Coming to being scrappy, I'm not talking about an unusable app. What I meant by being scrappy was, doing things that don't scale, in order to launch fast.

Scrappy MVP > Over-engineered MVP

The potential users, will they pay for the app idea.

Scrappy is basic. Not beautifully designed but gets the work done

Why don’t you post your telegram handle or something for people to DM / reach out to you? I’m sure there are enough folks who can advice if there are more details.

Hey, I’m in a similar boat.

  1. ChatGPT and copilot are not alternatives to your backend. I don’t understand fully what you mean here. In general, use any backend language you are comfortable with. I went with JavaScript because I have a lot of experience with it.

  2. You can be scrappy with your tech, not with the business. How are you planning on collecting money? Where will the money be? How will you pay people out? These are questions you should know the answer to.

  3. Getting a co founder helped me a lot. But you gotta figure out what works for you.

  4. Why can’t it be bootstrapped? Hire a CA for all the regulatory stuff. Or do it yourself. Look for VC money after you’ve figured out everything. If you get a VC before that, they’ll take a huge chunk of equity for peanuts.
