Nference have huge client base in healthcare sector IMOP now every big org( FAANG) is jumping into this field.. one of my friend works there work life balance is not good.. also they are following hybrid model .. my opinion start preparing for new role don’t panic currently market situation is not good but it will change in upcoming months just be prepared

The companies which were paying a very good CTC backed out at the last moments during college placements. The job scenario for 2023 grad batch is quite bad.

Layoffs were still happening before this SVB thing. So there don't need to be a connection to have layoffs

Layoffs did happen. But you can be assured that your offer won’t be revoked. The interns who came in January for 6 months internship plus FTE were asked to extend their internship, but their internship indeed got converted. But you can always lookout for other opportunities if you find any better.

I am a 2024 graduate and I got an oncampus placement in media.net in December 2023 and initially my date of joining was july 2024.

A month ago I got call from there HR that my joining date is postponed to August 2024.

Now today , they call us and inform that the date of joining is further postponed to 6th Jaunuary 2025 . 

What are we supposed to do in this scenario?

If anyone has any openings please let me know.

media.net (DirectI group) has postponed the joining of product managers hired from campus placements of top BSchools of India, IIM ABCL ISB XLRI etc. No specific timeline has been provided, HR said “joining is postponed”, that’s it. 

Insider news is that layoffs are happening at media.net and employees haven’t been given any appraisals this year. 
They are also forcing work from office on their employees so that they resign by themselves. 

also, I read a news article related to Ad Fraud done by media.net on Forbes Website.

It seems like the bear market effects are down upon consulting firms now too

Got to know from multiple people that were joining top consulting firms that their onboarding is deferred by 6 months (across places like Bain, McK etc)

Already enough existing employees aren’t on active cases, and so it seems like they’ve hired more than there is demand for cases, people who have actually been sitting on the bench for months 

If demand does not return, this could really stack up and lead to a problematic situation

Heard from a junior today that one of the consulting firms is delaying their joining from August to January 
This is in line with what most other firms have done as well (MBB). 

I saw the email as well, and the lack of any empathy was alarming. It literally said "We are delaying your joining from to Jan because of changes in training plan" and that we feel this is in your best interests.

I get that business would be tough, there are probably not as many cases right now, and hence they are doing this.

A) It is screwed up to break commitments for your joining date, just because you don't see as much demand around the period. These students are literally pumped about their first job, and to start off like this is just sad
B) At least if you are doing the above, have the courtesy to explain the proper financial reason behind it

Overall, really sad to see what graduates this year are having to go through, it's just random.

They have deferred the dates to God knows which date by estimating it to the last quarter of the year .
The offer letter was sent the previous year a day after the interviews after 1 year they are letting us know about the date being deferred .
They should have informed us earlier now there's no chance to sit back in placements.

I am a fresher and had a full time offer from Byju's and I had joining on 16th June which got deferred to 2nd August. Today I got another mail and it is further deferred to January 2024.
I don't have any other offer right now and I tried texting HRs on LinkedIn but no response. I used to be an active CP coder in college days. Any referral help/advice is appreciated.

They are doing layoff and has extended our joining with no guarantee as of now. With placements of my college over, I am stuck in this market with no job and a lot of uncertainties, please let me know if there’s any potential opportunity at your company.

I am a 2023 batch undergrad from nit . This year placement season was dull compared to 2022 . But somehow most of people got a job . But from the past 2 3 weeks companies are revoking offer letter. Almost 8 companies have revoked their offer letter, including increff OLX ,karza technology and so on .

Offer letter is getting delayed . Almost all of us had their expected joining in June and July ,but many of my friends have not got their offer letter. 

Also the PPO scene, prior to this year almost  the PPO conversion rate was very good in 6 months intern . A big mnc company hired 26 intern from my college but no PPO .

I am afraid right now. When will the scene become normal?

I recently received an internship offer for founder's office intern at one of the smaller us based start-ups with remote work , this is the first time I m gonna wear this hat, i have 1

Hi!
So I have resigned from my company as I am pivoting towards Law and joining Law School. 
My program starts in first week of July. However my contract states 90 days of notice period. 

They have agreed to relieve me before my university joining date however they are asking for notice period advance recovery amount i.e equivalent gross salary for the days of notice period not served

I cannot move my date of joining as I have to join on campus by first week in July.

The Notice Period Recovery amount is a significant amount. 

Also since I am pivoting in a new career, my hypothesis here is that I do not require experience or relieving letter

How do I navigate through this maze? 
Anyone who has experienced similar issues and can suggest ways to negotiate and go about it?
