PIP

I want to know about pip,, i recently allocated to a new project, in that project they have been talking about PIP and saying to me , if I make any single mistake that I will be in PIP. does it effect my career?

I am a fresher who is about to join a company in Bangalore. I've heard a lot of people mentioning the word 'PIP' on grapevine as well as reddit. Can you enlighten me with its meaning? Thanks.

Question to all recruiters, EMs and SDEs Does getting into PIP affect your career? Suppose someone is placed in PIP and they bag a new offer during that time without disclosing the PIP situation, would it be disclosed by the previous company’s HR during background check? Does it affect the new company offer? Also, if someone has been placed in PIP during their career at any time, would it affect their career trajectory in the long run? What do EMs, recruiters and HRs think about the candidate when they get to know that they have been placed in PIP before?

My Manager told me that I am not performing well and indirectly threatend me that I would be put in PIP. I am really tensed and not able to function properly. I anyways don't like my manager and trying to find a new job since last 3 months but nothing is working out. Not sure how to deal with it and what to do...

Is it easy to come back from a PIP there or you'll be booted to meet their quota usually?

Hey guys, I wanted to know that if you are put on PIP, which basically means you are about to be fired and you resign from your position before PIP ends, does it show up during background verification that this guy was put on PIP in oyr company. Also how strict is this background verification, does the third party verification also enquire about your performance in the previous company?
