These would be similar to some calls that management consultants do to conduct primary research. For example 1) The consulting team wants to know the cost structure of a typical e-commerce company to benchmark it against their client. 2) Ideally you would want a guy to interview who is in a good position in one of the competitor companies who would possess these kind of information about the e-comm industry and the competitor. 3)Then you prepare a list of the companies you would want to get these experts from and the designation of the people you would like to interview. 4) Send out the requirements to companies like Lynk Global who then shares the profile of people available for the advisory interview. 5) Then you conduct the interview and get the information you want. However please research from where you have received the advisory offer from, since it could also be a way to get information out of you for your organisation. A good approach to this would be giving different options for each question they ask in terms of methodology, organisation structure etc and always give ranges and percentages for the questions pertaining to numbers.
