Patriotism at crossroads
In two different minds here Of late I have been watching many India glorifying movies/shows - Rocketry, Manikarnika, Rocket Boys. On other hand, riots based on community and religion make me wonder how can people put own country down. Then, I am paying for 2.5 months of salary in tax. But am I benefitting from it? The road outside house has been broken before monsoons, gets even worse now. Also read this tweet in the morning and wondered if the love for country just blind.

Imagine yourself at 50 and follow the regret minimisation framework assuming things will change in India only at a slower pace. You will get your answer.
I found my balance in keeping India as a base location and having enough financial freedom to travel/stay outside for extended periods.

Sad part, most of income tax goes into compensations which the victims don't even receive
If you are smart and worthwhile, you will pay similar if not higher tax everywhere.
Almost every country in the world is shit because simply people are.
