People you are thankful for in your career!?
I’m thankful to my manager in my first company for showing me the way and the lead who gave me a chance.
Thankful to my last org for having toxic culture and not paying salaries for months, leading me to take a mental health break and join a nice new place :)

Grateful to my teacher and classmates in 2006 who mocked me publicly for my stammering.
Grateful to the teacher who laughed at me when I didn't get a college via JEE.
Grateful to the interviewers who gave me my first job from campus.
Grateful to the customer who denied meeting me as I was late by 1 minute. I deserved it.
Grateful to the senior colleague who asked me to dress up well for work meetings. It lifted my sales career.
Grateful to the recruiter, managers who took a chance at me even after a 2 year break.
Grateful to the vengeful manager who wanted to get rid of me and shifted me to a new team. This spurned my 5X growth in 3 years.
Grateful to my last manager in my last company. It was difficult in every sense. But it was well worth it.
And finally, I'm grateful to my family. It is on the pillars of their prayers and wishes that I stand today.

I am grateful to my first manager. Best person ever, she used to say that no need to stay late for unnecessary work. Also she fought with upper management for making us work on weekend. And always up to build work mindset. Best manager ever.
I'm thankful for an Hr who gave me the opportunity, when I came back after a gap. Already switched from that company.. but I know If she didn't support that day.. it would have been a tough ride.

I don't know why so many people had a nice first manager
But that is the story with me too. Had a manager at my first company (the company was toxic) who was actually quite average through most of the time they managed me. But once I started reporting to someone else, they showed a lot of care, and would constantly coach me and give good direction.
They got into proper professional coaching eventually, and have coached me year on year, all for free. It's the most helpful thing ever.

TL from my first org.
Didn't know how to use git and got 1k+ conflicts on my first PR. He gave me a lecture for 1:30 hours straight on how to use git and always be aware of technologies in tech. Only when you are confident of the technologies you use, then act on them or else seek help.
That tip helped me big time and made me a confident developer over the time.
