Really depends on the context and what you're trying to achieve with that set of comms. A healthy combination of giving people access and sending across Slack/MS Teams one pagers is what I do. Roadmap is either on a deck/PPT or in a doc which is open to all once the map is locked.

1. Sometimes prd are written for the sake of it. Contains no details. Usually engineers closely work with pm and implement stuff
2. In other scenario active discussion happen on prd and then stakeholders meet and take final call
3. In some orgs prds are just less of prds and more of timeline docs.

I have an onshore counterpart, one level above me. We two are setting up the project and conducting workshops. The problems I have are:

1. I work in the B shift from 2 PM to 11 PM since the client is in PST. But i login usually at 10-11
2. My onshore counterpart works in EST but logs in very late.
3. Although I work in the B shift, I often extend until 1 AM because I am preparing all the PPTs and doing research. I have to explain everything I do daily for 2-3 hours. She schedules meetings during the PST afternoon to present that work.
4. It has been 2 months of the same routine. In every weekly stand-up, she gets appreciation as if she did the work and research, without giving me any credit.
5. I can escalate the issue, but no one will listen because she has been here for 12 years, whereas I joined a year ago. She has strong networking with the leadership, which I lack.
6. I can ask for release, but I like this project and have provided solutions for some challenging gaps. I feel very bad because I work for 16-18 hours per day. She could schedule the meeting in the PST morning, but she purposely schedules it in the PST afternoon and gets the credit for my work.

PS: i saw her creating a transcript to read during the meeting

Do people like this really exist? If you have personal commitments, why come to work? Don’t you have a conscience and feel guilty about stealing credit for others’ work? Nowadays, there are many posts related to stopping gender-based reservations. Is it because of situations like this?

I was recently approached by a tech company for a growth product manager role. They asked me to prepare a document or presentation for a hypothetical HR Tech company that helps SaaS companies hire candidates using AI-based HR Tech software.

I don't have prior experience working on assignments like this and I'm not sure how to proceed. I have a few ideas about the unique benefits of AI and more.

What are your suggestions? Should I present my ideas in a pitch-like format (PPT) or provide my point of view in a document?

How to proceed with Growth Product Manager assessment?

As product manager going through an existential crisis, I am doing some serious introspection on what I am doing in this job. After adding everything from omnichannel integration to ai assistants in the quarterly roadmap, my senior management bosses decided to spend 45 days performing legacy software migration. Now at KPI time they'll all pull out the roadmap which I made and proceed to prune my bonus. 
Any ideas what to do? Besides rant, of course.

I'm working as an APM at a startup for about a year now. I work with another guy who happens to be my senior, PM and both of us report to the director.

Of late, my senior, i.e., the PM has been undermining my work when the two of us are working together, subtly taunting me that what I've done is pretty easy and non impactful business wise. He also disregards the decisions made by me, modifies the PRDs discovered and written by me and mails them as his own.

Eventually, he ends up adding me to the walkthrough calls because I had discovered the features but then concludes everything such that he had owned everything end to end.

Recently, both of us were given a documentation to be done by our manager, i.e., the director. I had completed almost 70% of that document, but in our call with the director he presented it saying that he had written that document and I had made a few changes to it.

This undermines my work and visibility of my capabilities. I don't know how to tackle this situation, my manager is usually busy and leaves it upto this PM to allocate work, which he unfairly uses.

How do I talk to my manager about this. I'm fairly new to corporate, just graduated last year and don't know how to handle all this.

But this thing has been bothering me lately, really looking forward to any advise my fellow grapeviners may have.

Just moved from a WFH startup to a Full WFO legacy corporate company.

These corpo people talk so much, too much restrictions to get access or to create a MVP, a lot of unnecessary paperwork/ email loops.

I feel sleepy all day and these people find and make you speak hell lot making me confused and feeling that I have done no work and what will I say about deliverables 🥲.


Side note: renovation going on so not getting any corner + the setting are like this getting it is difficult 😭

Any suggestions or I am over reacting 😄

So currently working on a very small scale start-up as a founding engineer (ik), recently got a contact of a seed investor who is also working as CFO in an unicorn, I wanted to reach out to him for seed investment but I'm pretty much unaware of what I should write to him, I'm more into technical side of the company. Should I talk business numbers and the scale at which we are operating and the sales? Or what exactly should I propose him?

I have over 5 years of experience in product management and have worked with 2 companies in the past. On multiple occasions i felt that I am struggling with what to build next.

Hey product folks, how do you guys keep tabs on your competitors? What information do you generally look for? 

Being from a tech background, I go in-depth on everything like website changes, new marketing campaign launch, using their product, new product launches, new hiring posts (possibility of expansion), annual reports etc. in depth. I spend a lot of time doing this, and it gets too immersive sometimes, deviating me from my work.

Not blaming but there is no coding culture in my college and I myself was also not aware about the market. Now I realised that I have done a big blunder. What should I do first now? I started learning Java during the Diwali holidays and I'm half way down. Pls tell me a roadmap so that by the end of 3rd yr at least I have a good internship in hand.
